Frost still playing the victim

Thought he was a stand up guy after coming back to NU after leaving Stanford. He took his beatings and won us a Natty. Bad look for the Wood River native. Looks like he still hasn't grown up and taken responsibility for his failure here. Trev's fault, etc
I still cannot unsee the picture of Moos driving a bound Frost in a white van while a gun was pointed at the poor coach to make him come to Lincoln. Scary stuff.
I'm far from a Frost fan, but I guess I don't have a huge issue on what Frost said.
A few things can be true at once;
1) He really enjoyed UCF and it would be tough leaving.
2) He had aspirations of coaching at a top level P5 program.
3) He was nervous about coaching at Nebraska because of his legacy and because of how well he finished at UCF. He knew expectations were high and I don't think he's a guy that's going to perform well with super high expectations.
*#3 is not an excuse as to why he performed terribly. Nebraska wasn't being unrealistic with its expectations.
4) He now knows he's a lower-level P4 coach. He'll never go to a SEC or BIG school. Probably not the upper 1/3 of the ACC schools. All too much pressure for him. He'll stick with the Big12 or bottom 2/3 of ACC schools he knows there's little to no pressure there.

You have to keep your name in the mix for bigger jobs ( UCF was G5 at the time) just because you interview doesn’t necessarily mean you will take the jobs or you necessarily want to leave your current position. Let him bring his entire staff. The only thing I hold against Frost is after his 2nd season I don’t think he gave a shit anymore and didn’t work hard to try to make it work here. He was just collecting a paycheck.
None of what he said sounds bad at all.
A lot of people take job that are not "best for them", hell I bet a lot of people on this site have taken a job that was not "best for them" but was maybe more money or closer to family or had hours that made it possible to help out with your kids more or your extended family.
I MAY take a different teaching job later on, one that is not "best" for me, but will get others some great benefits.

All he has to say is "I was in over my head at Nebraska and the Big 10." I gave it a shot and I failed." No hard feelings to Nebraska and it's fans." I think I can have success now in the watered down Big 12 and at UCF. Turn the page. PS. Thanks for the huge buyout.😒
Big 12 football is right up Frost's alley. Can't remember what show I heard this on, but apparently Frost said he felt pressure to win right away and it caused him to make some bad decisions in building the roster. In reality, the HS recruiting classes brought in over Frost's tenure were well regarded, but turned out to be underpowered. Either Frost and Co consistently got the busts of the high 3* to low 4* range, or they were shit at developing those players.

I am sure he got to the point where he realized that getting canned and getting a ton of money was better for him.
Who knows whether he's being sincere or not, but if he is, it makes complete sense to me. Even right when he got hired it was reported that he was genuinely torn and asking around for advice. It's perfectly clear that he was way happier at UCF than he ever was here. The dude's brain popped from all the pressure and context and hangers-on and personal failings. The guy we got was nothing like the guy in those 2017 UCF mini-documentary videos.

I mean, my dream job it to bang porn stars but it doesn't mean that I would be any good at it.
They wouldn't even be able to set up on of those teaser trailers because I would not last long enough.
Haha! But that’s not the question. “Would you be good at banging porn stars?” Or “Would Frost be good at coaching Nebraska?” That wasn’t the question.
The question is if you would take that job (dream job) if offered. And I’m sure you would. And then the next question is… if you were bad at plowing porn stars would you claim you never wanted to bang porn stars? Would you say… “I just wanted to be a humble teacher, but everyone talked me into going into porn.”
You claimed porn was your “dream job” and nobody forced you into porn. Just like Frost claimed Nebraska was his dream job and nobody forced him to say that or take the job. This is all about Frost continuing to not take any responsibility for his failures.
I would totally blame it on my female partners BUT in a classy way.
That way, we could still maybe hang out and stuff.
But - after you failed miserably you wouldn’t say after the fact that it wasn’t your dream job and other people wanted you to bang porn stars and you did it knowing it wouldn’t be a good fit.
