Freshman Jessica Shepard scored 29 points to lead Nebraska to a 92-54 win over Nebraska-Kearney in Nebraska's first exhibition game of the season.
Shepard was 11-of-19 from the field and 7-of-11 from the free throw line. She also recorded 12 rebounds to obtain a double-double on the afternoon.
Senior guard Rachel Theriot added 24 points as both she and Shepard are recovering from knee injuries.
Husker starters were Maddie Simon, Kyndal Clark, Rachel Theriot, Rachel Blackburn and Jessica Shepard.
Nebraska will host another exhibition game next Sunday, taking on Winona State University, an NCAA Division II school from Winona, Minnesota.
