As has been noted on the free board and elsewhere, Reisterstown (Md.) Franklin athlete/receiver Steven Smothers will be unofficially visiting Nebraska a week from today.
We were able to exchange some text messages with him this afternoon and Smothers said that he and his mother will be in Lincoln next Saturday through Tuesday [August 1-4] to thoroughly check out NU and their program.
The 5-foot-11, 155-pound dynamic playmaker is in West Virginia this weekend for an unofficial visit. He recently named the Cornhuskers, Mountaineers, Penn State, Rutgers, Ohio State and Illinois as his six leaders.
