Foley is gone!!👈 Ekeler coming home?

Have you watched many high school punters? I’ve never seen a single one in person who was ready to perform in college. I think those guys are few and far between. I’m sure there’s camps and weight room work to be done. A kid who is serious about punting in college no doubt goes to summer camps. Darin Erstad was an interesting case but we had a great kicking and punting coach then. Name escapes me now. I think he’s the President of a small college in Missouri now

"If you happen to be in Omaha, I would gladly take you up on that offer. I would not call myself a badass and I've taken my share of losses but I do love a good back yard brawl."

Hey @Corncountry, welcome to the 402, you bringin' the missus with you?

My wife would love to watch but is it still the 402? The azzhats gave me a 531 the last time I changed my number.

"According to a young NC insider, Wilson Dittman, on YouTube, there’s more than just casual interest here. 'There has been some movement, some murmur, some rumors around some certain guys, currently now with Tennessee one of the best special teams coordinators in America.' Dittman explained, with Ekeler’s name popping up as a prime target for the vacant position. To add to Heupel’s problems, he is a Former Nebraska linebackers coach back in the Bo Pelini (ex-Nebraska DC) era.

But is Ekeler really ready to pack his bags for Lincoln? That’s where things get interesting. Dittman highlighted a revealing conversation between Mike Ekeler and Nebraska reporter Steve Sipple. 'Apparently, Steve talked with Mike about a week ago and asked him, ‘Hey, would you be open to taking this job?’ And Mike said yes, he would absolutely be interested in coming back to Nebraska to be the Special Teams coordinator.'"

Time will tell if he's really interested OR if it is a negotiating ploy to get a salary raise.

So Ekeler rumors a dead end? I’m wondering if HCMR may have reached out to a staff member on a NFL team that is still alive in the playoffs? I don’t suspect a current member of either ND or OSU is under consideration though.

Someone just called Wilson Dittman an “insider”?

That wasn’t the guy I was thinking of. He went to Northern Colorado and failed as a head coach there. Scott Downing. Downing didn’t coach Erstad but he worked with our kickers and punters under Frank for I think 2 years in addition to coaching TEs.

We had part time special teams coaches and we had better special teams than we’ve had with full time coordinators for the past 20 years….,

I’m expecting it to be an NFL guy.

I have no knowledge but there's zero rush at the moment to get a special teams coach announced. The person could already be chosen but not ready to announce. Not saying its Ekeler but as an example his current contract runs until Jan. 31.
