Foley is gone!!šŸ‘ˆ Ekeler coming home?

I do know what he does, but is he a consultant to Matt Rhule why is he attempting to get a certain coach hired?

I'm mystified what his role with NU is. Since he has a reoccurring role on Husker Vision before games, I would think he had some kind of contract or handshake or understanding with somebody. But if he does, I doubt that includes a provision for coach hiring advice.

I think you're taking this Compton thing a little too literally. He's just a talking head offering up his "hot take" on who he thinks NU should hire for a special teams coach. No different than Paul Finebaum jabbering on about who he thinks Alabama should have hired to replace Saban. (Well, different in that it's on a MUCH smaller scale and Finebaum doesn't do any side work directly for Alabama that I know of). But it's all just talking heads stating their opinion for clicks/views. There are thousands of Comptons out there with varying levels of success (viewers/followers/listeners) who do this at every level of every sport all the time. That's what they get paid to do. That's all this is.

I never once claimed to be an insider you pvssy ass little cvnt and I don't even need to know you to say this! You prove it every day of youir life! What a little bitch! šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
So apparently, "pvssy ass little cvnt" is an acceptable phrase.

Got it.

I agree, he has an opinion like everyone else and is entitled to it. And I don't think his association with Husker Vision lends any weight or importance to his opinion about ST coach. But for some (not me) there is the perception he has standing in the Athletic Department and should have made his recommendation through channels and not publicly.

Rhule would be smart to wait and see who applies for the ST job and also who becomes available after the college season is closed. There's no need to rush now to hire anybody immediately as Spring football practice is a ways off.

Plus Compton has some personal bias with Eckler since he recruited Will.

He wasnā€™t fired, his contract expired and they didnā€™t renew it. So they would have to rehire him at a different position if he is to remain at Nebraska. Probably just as likely that he finds a job elsewhere at this point. I even bet the Rhule is helping him on that front.

It was stated that it doesnā€™t happen. It was stated that Rhule wouldnā€™t do something like this. Donā€™t go changing the narrative now that he did what many said he wouldnā€™t doā€¦
It's just self affirmation. "He wouldn't have done it without my incessant bitching". I think he would have but I'm not going to spend 1000 posts defending that opinion. I have a job, wife and kid I'd rather spend that time on.

True story, I almost got into a fight with Mad Dog Vachone's daughter. Ran away because she was bigger and hairier than me.

EDIT:

This is a pic of Mad Dog, not his daughter.

Maurice Mad Dog Vachon
When I grow up I wanna be like you. Lol

FWIW - Read some where that Busch actually said he'd be interested in the job if they called. But nobody has called him and he hasn't called them so doesn't seem likely.

C3o make sure your badass is genuine & bonafide. Otherwise, they're just a badass
Taking a business trip out to Nebraska. Odd request: I want to fight someone. Preferably a ā€œbad assā€. Will meet anywhere. Reply to me if you know anyone. Toodles
If you happen to be in Omaha, I would gladly take you up on that offer. I would not call myself a badass and I've taken my share of losses but I do love a good back yard brawl.

What exactly goes into the development of a punter? Are freshmen typically not ready to handle the job?
Have you watched many high school punters? Iā€™ve never seen a single one in person who was ready to perform in college. I think those guys are few and far between. Iā€™m sure thereā€™s camps and weight room work to be done. A kid who is serious about punting in college no doubt goes to summer camps. Darin Erstad was an interesting case but we had a great kicking and punting coach then. Name escapes me now. I think heā€™s the President of a small college in Missouri now

Supposedly his screeds appeal to younger fans, but many folks, including me find them abrasive and disrespectful to the other teams. Such as screaming the other team doesn't belong on the same field as NU while the team is out warming up.
you would've lasted approximately 3 seconds in a competitive football locker room, then.
