ripped my guts out. Maybe since the title game loss against the Whorns. I hope Nebraska's losses in the future are rare and all mean something nationally and my guts are again churning. It has been way too long that I expect to lose games like this, and when it happens, it is like, oh well.

This team is a healthy OL from being undefeated and being a team headed to tosu with a chance to go undefeated regular season.

Impressed with the heart and fight of this team. The DL is going to be special and if the LB and DB can keep things going on their improvements, this team can be special soon enough

Never like to lose but I feel better about this loss than many in years past. We belong and played hard tonight. Probably will lose next weekend but we have a good chance at going 10-2 which would be a great year and help for a strong finish in recruiting.

I agree. This is the first Nebraska loss in a long time that has made me a foul human being. I always used to be in a foul mood when my beloved huskers lost, but last few years I just kind of shrugged and turned the channel. It's good to be back playing some meaningful games.

Agreed. It feels good that a loss hurts so bad as this one does. I had become numb to losses. Not this year. It sucks.

You know this one felt an awful lot like some of those losses early in Tom's career....unfortunately I don't think MR is going to get 2 decades to win a MNC like Tom did. I'm afraid this loss though is just the first of several down the stretch now. Our O line is just a mess with the injuries.

Love the optimism and the faith in the team. Did you learn ANYTHING from the game tonight? Only a first class a$$ or somebody who wants the team to lose would watch this game and think we are going to fade down the stretch.

Will probably take some grief for this. It was a disappointing loss. Less than 2 minutes left, game tied. Stanley Morgan...pass complete. Stanley Morgan...pass complete. Pass incomplete. Pass for no gain. Pass incomplete. Punt. At this point in time I thought we'd lose the game. What a terrible fan right? Well, this is when we would've pulled it together and scored to fit our MO. Didn't happen. Anybody not named Clement was serving up rushing 1st downs.

Looking forward. OhSU will be a true upset if it happens (meaning we won't be underrated). I don't see us collapsing. But, I don't see us stepping up a tier either.

I don't know why you think we'd fade down the stretch. Looking at the schedule, I think we go 3-1, 2-2 at the very least. 10-2 or 9-3, is a very successful season!

I would say it's a disappointing loss in that every loss is disappointing. But I really don't see how you couldn't be impressed with how the team played. I mean, we weren't supposed to be able to hardly run at all on their defense, especially with the struggles we had last week. We ran for 152 yards-not impressive by any means, but nearly 50 yards above the average of 102.9 ypg they were giving up on the ground coming into the game. Much of the country and at least some of our own fans really didn't expect this to be much of a game-maybe not a blowout, but not a game where we really had a legitimate chance to win. I think we proved that we are at least legitimate and not a complete fluke of an easy early schedule.

It hurts, but the feeling I have after being 10 down and fighting back suppresses the pain.GBR

I feel like I know more about this team this morning than any of our pervious 7 wins, and it feels great. We're legit, we'll be OK, and we have a real shot to beat OSU. I didn't know any of this 24hrs ago.

it was somewhere between solich getting drilled by penn state and us looking like a high school team in austin, that nebraska games stop effecting me as far as any guts being ripped out. it's pretty easy now, we either win or we don't. the 83 orange bowl is the only time I really felt like throwing the tv out the window. but that was a lil black and white tv, no way I'd trash my samsung SUHD over a game. plus it would take work getting it thru the window.

I'm with you and while TO has been praised for going for two, I thought at the time -- and still do -- that the gamble threw away a cinch national championship.

This will open up can of worms but I completely agree. We were the only undefeated team in contention. We EARNED the opportunity to win the national title with a win or a tie. Miami did not. I know there was not much time left but if we tie the game Miami must take huge gambles deep in their own territory in order to try to win the game. They have to pass risking an INT or 3 and out with little time running off the clock due to incompletions They probably have to go for it on 4th down deep in their territory and if they don't get it we have a FG attempt to win it outright.

Look how many national titles Alabama has with a loss.

The ultimate goal of that 83 game was to win the national title. A win or tie achieves that goal.
