Mike Gundy. He's a good coach who wanted (and wants) out.
Gundy also has family in Lincoln if that's the case.

Good pick. His offense mind would transition pretty smooth to the skill set we currently have now right?Mike Gundy. He's a good coach who wanted (and wants) out.
Mike has had a fairly varied offensive plan from year to year. Right now he has a Heisman-type qb so they like to throw it. However, their run game is pretty stinking good too. In the past they have had teams that liked to run it first. With the exception of Weeden, all of his qbs have been able to run fairly well.Good pick. (Not that I'm calling for Riley to be fired).
I seriously question whether or not a coach who's worth his salt would want to come to Nebraska. The NU head coaching position has been a coaching carousel for the last 20 years.
It would be really interesting if someone like Gundy were to become HC at Nebraska although personally, I'm holding out hope for Scott Frost.[/QUOTE
Was this the reason SE settled on Riley because he couldn't lure anyone else?
Good picks. Still doesn't prove that they'd be any better than Riley other than Gundy or Shaw.Obvious it wouldn't be the 4 you mentioned.
I'll give you some bones to chew on... Then you can shut up.
Shaw, Leavitt, Foster, Gundy, Venables,Fitzgearld.
Which is why Nebraska will never be great again. Why invest in the program if you still sell out on Saturday and collect the B1G check?Nope

Partly true. He wanted someone who was on that whole Energy Bus thing just like he is. In some ways he wanted a coach who would fit him (which in a way is the anti-Pelini). Diaco is on the Bus too so I believed that is why Eichorst really liked this hire.
True. That's you're opinion you are entitled too and you don't know that they would be the same or worse either...
If Riley quits or is fired it is not til the end of the season or maybe even next season - but there are steps that need to be taken nowI seriously question whether or not a coach who's worth his salt would want to come to Nebraska. I know people who have. It's shows on Saturday's.You've seen our practices?
Funny how people can go to the same practices but have different opinions about what they see.I know people who have. It's shows on Saturday's.
Don't be in denial. There are a lot of people getting the same information. There isn't much hitting and 1-1 work. Even Sean Callahan said of the three prior coaches Riley runs the most unphysical practices by far. Callahan even did a lot more hitting. Devaney has also played a big role in this. It doesn't matter anyways. The train wreck will be over this year or next.Funny how people can go to the same practices but have different opinions about what they see.
Their practices are soft and all xs os.Funny how people can go to the same practices but have different opinions about what they see.
You give him to the end of the year to right the ship. I am STILL not giving up on winning the B1G west this year. I STILL think we can match up with everybody in the west. I was worried about his game. Nobody gave NIU a shot and they are used to winning.I've been a firm Riley supporter. Tough to remain so today. Unfortunately I'm not sure what is worse, hitting the reset button again or giving Riley more time. It's a tough situation. We will never be a quick fix program but losing to NIU at home in year 3 is rough
Yeah, sure. He's really got us heading in the right direction. Why do people think hiring an old mediocre coach is gonna work? We are 3-6 in our last games and lost to an unranked Mac team at home. You give him to the end of the year to right the ship. I am STILL not giving up on winning the B1G west this year.
