west pod: usc ucla oregon washington stanford smu
midwest pod: NU nd wisconsin iowa min illinois
mideast pod: mich osu mich state north carolina indiana purdue
east pod: penn state clemson fsu miami rutkers maryland

northwestern goes to the ivy.

then just rotate the pods, ..one champ game ...lots of big matchup per year..

SMU?

Why not Cal?
texas footprint, dallas tv....I was thinking houston but I think george bush said smu would play for free for a couple years...and I think they are loaded enough to keep their team decent with nil...

but I don't have anything against cal..just not sure they bring what smu does...except maybe on the academic side..cal would probably fit in the mwc pretty good

the pods make sure everyone plays everyone at least 1 time every 3 years..and makes travel sence.
and you could stager the games in the pod you play, so usc would have one game vs ucla, then penn state, then stanford, then miami..etc...so it's not every week clear across the country

I’d rather be in the east pod, can we switch with Rutgers?

here a revised plan with 20 teams, I have to deal with what makes some sense on a map

west pod: usc ucla oregon washington stanford
midwest pod: NU iowa min smu houston
mideast pod: wisconsin illinois mich osu mich state
east pod: penn state indiana purdue rutkers maryland

this way we get some linemen from iowa and minn
then skilled position players from the smu & houston area.
this is probably the best way to go

SMU will be PAC18 soon

SMU will be PAC18 soon
I'm not so much for that, I'd rather coach rhule be recruiting the dallas area...
it's the second best recruiting area in texas after houston...

I threw kansas in there cause:
they are named after a state
they have a new stadium
it's a plesant drive for fans
and it's good to get a couple players from the kc area..

I mean, while we're dreaming, can't we just switch to the SEC and have...

NW Pod:

NU
Mizzu
OU
Arky
UT

It is kind of funny that in most all of your B1G scenarios, we are in by far the worst pod. I mean, give me several of the teams in the new Big 12 over some of those weak midwest pods we'd end up in with the B1G.

Actually like this. Something about those teams just seem more interesting to play than Iowa and Minnesota

1. the sec said they are done expanding, I'm working with the hand delt
2. I don't think our current team would fair well in that division
3. the winning games in dallas and houston is a strategic move based on recruiting.
not losing games in normon and austin.

I like rhule but I'm not sure it time to get georgia in our devision either...we need to build first
4. every team I mentioned wants to be in the big 10
5. winning in the sec with the current state of NU football seems a bit dreaming to me.

Ah, gotcha. I saw "nd" in your first post and I thought you were adding Notre Dame. I see now it was just a type-o and meant to be "and"

If we're poaching the Big 12, give me TCU over SMU all day long. Otherwise, yeah I see where you're coming from.

I added ND in the first post cause, I'm not sure they want the sec or big 12...the acc would be blown up at that point..and I couldn't put them in the east or mid east cause that would over load them..
plus that was only if we could ship northwestern to ivy..
cause I heard they were dry humping each other in showers, and had water melon eating contest for black freshmen's...or thats what I read on twitter posts anyway...
that kinda thing seems like it would kill recruiting..they just need to by a row boat and go ivy with their smart selfs..

I guess I'm trying to lessen the rust belt teams, due to not much fertile recruiting grounds..unless it's like a nd..
I maybe a calvinist but I know rome ain't trying to make chicago gang members.

I'm good with tcu in place of smu, I guess tcu would be smarter cause that would keep smu in a g5...I just remember the pony express days..and I think smu is suppose to be a smart school to match the aau thing..plue they are smack dab in dallas, just like houston is right in the middle of houston..tv likes populations

Not sure why the word "final" is used. The only things certain about conference realignment is that 1 - more is coming down the pike and 2 - any speculation about what the next realignment is going to be will be wrong. :)

my final thread about it..till the end of the season

B1G south division:
NU
ucla
houston
smu
miami
fsu or gt or tulane

this would be a proper recruiting foot print for the B1G
