Didn't see or miss himDid he play after he got his usual false start? I know he’s a terrible blocker maybe that’s why we saw a lot of the other two tight ends
Whew that is rough. Football can be an unforgiving game
People are pouncing on him. He is a decent blocker and receiver IMO. Certainly not the reason we have lost five games. The hate is going to push him into the portal.
If I were a coach I would sit him down and tell him the knee brace needs to come off. It hinders his ability to do his job and if he has any aspirations to make it to the next level it needs to go.
No, he wasn't. I've seen him play since he was a Sophomore in high school. He was over ratedHe was an NFL TE until the injuries, it sucks for the kid. He I just physically incapable of things he used to do.
Case of a man playing against boys? Superior size and strength at that age?No, he wasn't. I've seen him play since he was a Sophomore in high school. He was over rated
Yes he was. I was watching since 8th grade. No, he wasn't. I've seen him play since he was a Sophomore in high school. He was over rated
Probably not, but if he truly wants to be an All American he needs to do everything possible to make it happen. And if he’s too scared to re-injure his knee he shouldn’t be playing.Do we REALLY think it's just the knee brace though? I don't...

I don't get the "supposed athleticism" comment when it's known he had 2 major knee injuries?Frankly, I don’t care about her feelings or whatever. He hasn’t been anything special. He did have some injuries and that’s a shame, but is what it is. His blocking was mediocre, and really kinda shitty based on his size and supposed athleticism
I really don’t care if he leaves, especially with our new TEs coming in.
I take it no one told Shirley that he isn’t first team anymore
A couple of posters have been preaching accountability for years. Almost like they knew exactly what they were talking about. Glad accountability is finally starting to be instilled in the players and coaching staff.I don’t think he did. And we were great without him… that says something
I do love this “accountability” thing… it works wonders
Mom needs to stay off social media.Whew that is rough. Football can be an unforgiving game
He’s still a matchup problem for defenses and has good hands but he’s not the threat he was.I don’t know what Fidone might have been without injury. I do know how he has looked on the field for us, and it leaves me wanting something better. Better blocking, more YAC, fewer mistakes.
Throw the damn thing in the trash. I can see wearing one for 2 or 3 weeks tops following injury, but wear the stupid thing too long and it really inhibits mobility and strengthening the joint long term. I don't know why it became commonplace to keep them on semi-permanently, but they lumber around like my fat basketball buddy with knee problems every time I've seen it.If I were a coach I would sit him down and tell him the knee brace needs to come off. It hinders his ability to do his job and if he has any aspirations to make it to the next level it needs to go.
Has she seen her son try to run?Mom needs to stay off social media.
No, he wasn't. I've seen him play since he was a Sophomore in high school. He was over rated
He seems like a good kid, but I really don't know what he adds for us. We've recruited several TE types in the last couple of classes and he's already being passed over by Boerkircher, Nelson, and Bonner. I think his best opportunity is at a smaller school where if he truly has any talent left, he can showcase it.No, his level of play will push him in the portal. It’s been a very long road for him with the devastating knee injuries. Others are now a better option than him. I don’t think he needs to leave, we still have use for him but being the featured TE those days are over.
Yeah there's no room for holding onto non-producers. Things are going to be a lot more fluid with roster makeup, that's just the new reality.Tough choices are ahead with 105 man limit. All the changes that have turned over college football the last few years have benefitted the players. This is the first change that clearly does not.
There will be less room to hide projects, recruiting misses, and hard luck injury cases. Coaches will be entering new territory, and will need to adapt. This is now a semi-pro landscape. They need to cauterize their soft spots for feel good stories, and make ruthless personnel decisions.
I mean we've never seen it, not even once since he's been here, his supposed superior athleticism. It's hard to blame fans for thinking it's myth rather than reality.I don't get the "supposed athleticism" comment when it's known he had 2 major knee injuries?
Just pull up a chair there, young whippersnapper, and let me tell you about a kid named Johnny Mitchell...I never seen NFL TE level play at Nebraska. Not sure about HS because of course I never seen him play. A lot goes into being an NFL level player than just being big fast and strong. A lot of time intangibles matter just as much.
I'm still not sure of his ceiling but Satterfield definitely didn't do him any favors here. Dana obviously ain't coming here to hold anybodies hand. The days of playing because you are good guys and coaches "like" you are over.
From now on you get what you earn...novel concept.

Pff showed he only played 3 snaps. My guess is this no discipline, no reward mentality they are institutingDid he play after he got his usual false start? I know he’s a terrible blocker maybe that’s why we saw a lot of the other two tight ends
Then you don't know what NFL talent looks like.Yes he was. I was watching since 8th grade.
You aren’t doing your kid any favors, Shirley.
Bracing doesn’t prevent strengthening. You can’t strengthen a joint. Braces have data showing they protect against ligamentous injuries in tight ends. That’s why he wears them. Do they hinder his mobility? Maybe. Probably.Throw the damn thing in the trash. Jamie Williams in the early 80’s won a super bowl with the 49r . I will say fidone had a better season last year with a grad assistant as his coach compared to satt this yearJack Stoll is on a roster in the NFL. Travis Vokolek also
Cethan Carter was pretty good, played in the NFL for a while.
Junior Miller played for years in the NFL at a high level. An All Pro for a few years.
Johnny Mitchell was the 15th pick as TE in the 1992 NFL draft.
best TE prospect we've had in some time is now playing center for the Eagles.Jack Stoll is on a roster in the NFL. Travis Vokolek also

TE coach last year was the former SMU TE coach. Also coached at ASU. Far from a grad assistant. Still on staff I believe.Jamie Williams in the early 80’s won a super bowl with the 49r . I will say fidone had a better season last year with a grad assistant as his coach compared to satt this year
He was going to average at best at TE. Moving him to center was clearly the best decision Frost made as head coach for NU. Perhaps his only good decision.best TE prospect we've had in some time is now playing center for the Eagles.
You sure as hell can strengthen a joint and the muscles around it that help stabilize it. Which leads to the major problem with bracing is that these soft tissues aren't being conditioned in the way they need to be for fluid, stable motion when performing athletic activities. Which is why Fidone and others move so awkwardly when they're used to wearing a brace all the time.Bracing doesn’t prevent strengthening. You can’t strengthen a joint. Braces have data showing they protect against ligamentous injuries in tight ends. That’s why he wears them. Do they hinder his mobility? Maybe. Probably.
Jurgens probably owes Frost a few beers for making that move, I think the guys going to have a long career in the NFLHe was going to average at best at TE. Moving him to center was clearly the best decision Frost made as head coach for NU. Perhaps his only good decision.
