6.2 grade, tied for 6th best performance for TEs at this years combine.

Looks like he might of done just enough to get himself drafted in the later rounds. Top 10 TE in all categories. I think though with his injury history he will end up falling into later rounds or even as a UDFA. Still can't see him as a starting or even second string NFL TE but time will tell and may prove me wrong.

Hope my Rams stay away from this one.

I bet he will not get drafted. If he does get drafted, it will be by a team whose scouts are telling them that Fidone was not used properly and had poor QB play (Jr. year).

The top two TEs did not work out. Another who will go ahead of Fidone also sat out. Only 12 tight ends drafted last year and the class is pretty deep this year. I expect Fidone to not get drafted and that might not be the worst thing. At least he will get to pick from a few teams where he wants to go.

Thomas Fidone II, TE, Nebraska

Nebraska tight end Thomas Fidone II was among the athletic standouts. The Cornhuskers prospect leaped a position-best 10-foot-6 broad jump and tied for third in the vertical (35.5 inches). Fidone also ran a 4.70 40, tying the second-fastest result among all participating tight ends. He battled through some injuries throughout his time at Nebraska, but enjoyed a career-best season in 2024, recording 36 catches for 373 yards, averaging 10.4 yards per catch.

Slightly off topic- I heard that only 18 of the 40 interior defensive linemen invited to the combine ran the 40. It's amazing that something that had been limited to only the elite prospects (skipping workouts) is now a thing that even guys who might not get drafted will do. Hell, get Nash down there. He'll run the GD 40 for them!

Idk but I wish him the best. Dude caught some flack from Husker fans (some of it earned) but I don't think Satterfields system did him any favors whatsoever. IF he can hold up health wise he's worth taking a flyer on I think. But inevitably it'll be about his health. To go thru what he has injury wise and still test out how he did wasn't bad at all relative to the TE class.

Hopefully he gets a shot and does well.

I hope like hell someone gives Nash a shot. Even though I wasn't super high on his play last year I think he deserves it. His Jr tape alone should probably get him a shot.

Given his medical questions, it was fortunate he got an invite to the combine. Gives him a chance for his body to be thoroughly evaluated by everyone, and remove any doubts.

I don't think the rest of the country has the digust for Fidone that Husker fans do. I'm guessing he didn't leave early without first receiving a favorable response in his NFL evaluation. I wouldn't be surprised if he's like a lot of NU olineman over the years who fans hated but hung around the NFL for years.

It’s not that fans hated him, we/they are critical of his play. He was a starter when it was very clear our number 2 guy was much better in the games.

100%!

He is going to get drafted and he is going to play for a very long time. Most of the best TE's in the league are not dominate blockers, they are mismatches on LBers. That is what he will be.

Would be cool if he gets a shot and continues to get more of that athleticism back. I saw a guy that wore concrete shoes on the field, but I’m not a scout.

Being the #1 rated TE out of HS is the reason he got an invite. More than one "expert" has talked about that. The NFL wants to see if there is still something there.

No brace, looked so much better.
I thought that as well. But did he wear the brace because it was drills or does he not need the brace anymore? Shame we never got to see the best of Fidone when healthy. Too many variables to factor, but woulda coulda shoulda. Hope he does great things in the NFL.
