ESPN

Live sports is one on the few things keeping TV viable. The B1G offers the highest rated brands and games in college football and its not particularly close.

ESPN didn't have the money to bid because they paid the SEC a second tier rate for the second tier product it is.

Now the SEC is stuck getting way less money than the B1G, in a longer contract. And soon the B1G is probably going to take a few schools from the SEC as well and make them as irrelevant as the Big 12.

Disney is a failing company with the only thing propping it up being government handouts on keeping copyright way passed its expiration & other sweetheart deals. And like the idiots they are, they bite the hands that fed them. Once those handout end, and they will, they will fall like the house of cards it is.

Delusional as it gets

FOX's show is better. Now there is no reason to even pay for ESPN anymore :)
I have seen it and it is okay but ESPN College Game Day is just different. They started it, FSU and ND, there on campus, it was raw, and low quality but it captured what college football feels like and smells like and sounds like. The crowds they get, the tailgating segments, all of it...it basically takes "you" to the game.

I have been to 1 ESPN one live and one Fox one live. The ESPN one was packed and like a rock concert, the Fox one was nothing special.

The ONLY reason "we" pretend we don't watch/like ESPN is because they don't talk about NU as much.

Don’t forget virtue signaling as a reason many say they don’t watch

The one that shocks me the most is Todd McShay. I enjoyed the first draft podcast he did with Mel. I'm sure that is going away now. Like others have said, I mainly get all my sports news from YouTube clips. I get to pick and choose what I want to watch and it's all ad-free with YouTube Premium.

I just hope ESPN isn't planning to center everything around Pat Mcafee. I don't hate him, but he is just another guy who likes to talk a lot and doesn't seem to care much about the college game.

Each year ESPN finds a way to suck more life out of college football. I'm surprised they didn't tell Lee Corso and Mel Kiper they are getting too old and need to hit the road.
His stupid sideline coverage in the Michigan/TCU game was unbearably bad

Personally good riddance. Haven't watched ESPN for years
Who watches anything on ESPN other than games? I click off as soon as the games end and I rarely watch their pregame or halftime shows. About the only regular left that I like is Scott Van Pelt and I don't watch him. I start the day with Dan Patrick on his radio show that comes on here at 6:00 am.

What do you base this on? According to this, the SEC has the most viewers...

SEC - 30.05M
B1G - 28.09M

Even once you factor in USC and UCLA, in which case you also need to factor in UT and OU...

SEC - 34.86M
B1G - 31.75M

Do you have different data? Or are you just making stuff up to fit your agenda?

College Game Day and live sports for sure.

There was a time when Sports Center was must watch TV but it is so easy to get sports updates now so that changed for me.

You didn't do per game, the SEC has an extra game played, and the SEC # is also inflated by getting to play vs Ohio State who is the #1 brand in the sport, which was the highest viewed game of the season.

Which is also why the Big Ten gets paid a lot more than the SEC for broadcasting football games. Because they get more viewers.

SEC can rest easy being a distant #2.

Did you look at the link? The numbers next to each school indicate the average number of viewers per week during the 12-week regular season. I just added each team up to get a total for each conference. Not an exact science I realize since the teams in each conference play each other. But if anything, that would benefit the B1G as they have an extra conference game which should have more viewers than a meaningless OOC game. Not to mention, the SEC's numbers didn't include Vanderbilt as they weren't on the list.

And how does the SEC have an extra game played? We all play a 12-game regular season. And when did the SEC play Ohio St in the regular season?

Either I'm missing something, or you're just making stuff up to fit your agenda. Or this data is way off.

Please list all the SEC teams that will join the Big Ten in the next five years.

This should be fascinating.
Not next 5 years will be 7-10 years with the way TV contracts are setup.

Florida, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame will join the Big 10. Texas A&M is a maybe (if the conference wants them) and then some Western schools as well.

Clemson, NC State and Florida State will go to the SEC.

Pitt, Louisville will go to the Big 12.

Scenario #2 is more interesting and just as likely to happen IMO.

That is, no conferences will exist like we know it for major college football. All teams are independents that have scheduling agreements with their former conference members, but each school has their own TV deal and everyone gets paid different amounts.

So you'll have teams like NW getting 10 million a year while teams like Ohio State will be making over 100.

This is the dumbest post I have ever seen

Ha! Of course! But...they still watch. They just say they don't.

Just like the "I just mute the announcers" crowd. No...no you don't.
Canceled my subscription probably 5-6 years ago with all their announcers’ leftist virtue-signaling bullshit, and won’t ever willingly watch again. Have been at others homes here and there with ESPN on, but it doesn’t air in my home. Ever. As much as I love my alma mater, some things are more important than sports. ESPN can suck my d*ck, lol. It was an EASY DECISION.

I do love when crazy people can admit they are crazy! Haha

If ESPN would actually suck you #*%£ … would you start paying the subscription again?

If their ownership publicly stated the errors that’ve led to their current state, yep. Feel like that ship has sailed, tho. The list just keeps getting bigger.

So long as there exist alternatives to contributing to the Woke Mob, we should ALL be utilizing that leverage. MONEY is the only way.
