I understand that these kids are extremely excited to get down to college and continue their dream of playing college football. I'm also sure that the spring of the year they enroll is very beneficial to their development, especially in the strength and conditioning department! The only problem I have with it is that these kids only get one high school experience. They've had their same group of friends for the last 4 years or even the last 18 years. They are going to be spending countless hours practicing football, studying film, just living and breathing football. College football players are incredibly blessed and have a lot of benefits but their free time is limited. If I'm a coach, unless the kid is absolutely dead set on enrolling early, I tell him to finish his high school experience, spend time with his family and friends, and he'll have plenty of time to develop and continue his dream. Thoughts?
