Eight former Northwestern football players have hired an attorney to sue the school

If I were in Northwestern's position, I'd settle quickly while also being extremely transparent about what went down. I'd rather rip the proverbial band-aid off and let it all out publicly rather than hoping some of the details stay quiet while making you look worse months down the road with a slow bleed of information. Given it's 2023, I fully expect them to not be transparent at all and instead have this scandal needlessly drag on.

With Crump involved, the sales of all types of recording equipment will spike. Guy has little or no actual morals and values outside of fame fortune and being better at the race card than Jessie. He gets results so have to give him credit, though.

less than 50 days until games are played and the new commish has yet to finalize the media deal every B1G fan jerked off to months ago

now this

couldn't happen to a scummier group. I'm here for all of it. absolutely hilarious
NW should probably just petition the Ivy League for admission…. Their sports programs are dead.

I'm fine with NW getting whatever punishment is coming to them, etc. Another BIg Ten elitist scandal.

However, these guys shouldn't get a dime, at least until they also press charges on their fellow players who sexually abused them. The perpetrators are adults and if these guys were truly sexually assaulted they should press charges against them. But they won't because they aren't really that mad about it, they went along with it, knew it was hazing, etc. Now that there's money to make, out they come.

the only guy s who should make money are the ones who blew the whistle on this. If you were really sexually abused you shoulda said something before there was money to be made.

I do find it funny though that NW is getting a taste of their "everyone is a victim" education.

That's not how sexual abuse works

If the did wrong they need to pay the price, but on a sidenote - not a fan of Crump

It’s just like the girl that said she was sexually assaulted by an athlete. She doesn’t file charges against him but She goes after the university on the title 9 shit.

I don’t see how any of the assistant coaches that knew about it are retained. I could not believe Callahan and Sip sided with NW on HuskerOnline in why they should retain the other coaches. “It would just be too inconvenient to fire ALL the coaches, so some of the shit bags get to stay” what a message that sends…We’ll fire the main guy but morals go out the window as soon as it becomes “too inconvenient” this close to the season.

Callahan looks like my thumb when my nail fell off of it.

Total bs

It’s 15 days until fall camp starts, someone has to coach the team.

It wouldn't surprise me if Crump is the one that gets more money out of this than his clients
It would surprise me if that happens. It's a virtual certainty that there's a contingency fee contract in place that favors the client.

^^^^^This^^^^. These victims were not little kids. They were adult athletes who went along with the hazing because they felt like they "had to" in order to be a part of the team. That stinks as an environment, but as adults they should have gone to the head coach, lodged a formal complaint, told him his players are assholes, and then put their name in for a transfer to a different school.

I once got a new job back in the late 80's when I was still in my twenties. And on the first day my manager, a woman, started hitting on me even though she knew I was married. She pulled the usual bullshit tactic of telling me that all of the people who worked there did this kind of thing and that if I knew what was good for me I would go along with it. I told her to go to hell. I went to her boss, filed a complaint, then quit on the spot. I did not threaten to sue anyone. I did not want anyone's money. I just wanted a different job where people acted like adults. And I found one.

These players who are now retaining a lawyer to get money out of the school are gold digging cry babies.

I feel like I just read a rejected penthouse forum submission.

Who would you find in 15 days to coach D1 football. You honestly can’t be this thick.
Oh ok, just keep the perpetrators on staff, have them continue to coach the same kids because it’s too convenient…Jesus Christ miss some fall camp if you have to. There are a ton of football coaches who would love the chance at even an interim opportunity here. Didn’t Ed Orgeron just say he was interested?? I’d be shocked if they could actually do that well in a normal hiring situation. Just get the rot out for God’s sake it’s not that hard.

Orgeron came out and said his interest was fake news.

It’s simply not that easy. Not sure why you can’t understand.

You should have dipped the company ink a couple times before you made the complaint and quit. I take it she wasn't that hot.

I guess it was easy enough to fire their 42 million dollar head coach 3 weeks before camp though. But by all means, keep defending the creeps so they can save some money and maybe go 2-9 instead of 1-10. You look great.

I am not defending anyone you simply cannot bring in that many coaches and they would be all unemployed or retired nobody can leave a current job. You are simply not using a sense of logic here.

backfilling enabling sickos is not anyone's concern when doling out justice

can't do the time, don't do the crime

last I checked, "inconvenience" is not much of a legal leg to stand on

"Your Honor, I plead guilty to the allegations and ask the court to stay the sentence due to the fact I have work to do."

LOL talk about not using a sense of logic

There are literally hundreds of unemployed coaches right now who would do it. You just want them to have better options for some reason. Keep helping the creeps!
