Early Football Mags are out

And you certainly live up to the arrogant know it all Mich fans .Rudock was not liked by most players and his 3 yard and out on 3rd and 5 got a little tiresome. Beathard was hurt in the Pitt game and played on guts all year . Kirk did have the guts to force Rudock out and thanks to that went 12-0 . If anything Kirk is loyal to a fault and gave Rudock more then enough chances and he couldn't get the job done They did finish in the top ten with a banged up QB which is more then the mighty meat chicken did with the magic touch of hairball. See you in Kinnick. That much maligned staff has finished in the top 10 five times since 2000 how about you?
you Iowa fans need to walk a little softer right now - It is very likely Michigan will pound you to dust this year and also very likely NU will beat you

Not gonna argue whether or not he is gonna be good at Michigan or not, but I wouldn't take too much stock in those numbers at Houston. (Him doing it as a freshman does carry some weight).
Sure...don't disagree but the point is he had numbers...old person's fail on this is awesome...it would be one thing if he said "my bad" when informed that Michigan's QBs do have experience but he went one step further by saying none have B10 experience when it was previously pointed out that two do...you might want to reel your idiot in.

Really don't care If meat chicken has 452 QB with experience way down on my give a dam list. The Op is just chapped they had to rely on an Iowa run off to salvage their season -your welcome . Mr. Rudock will never play a down in the regular NFL unless the league starts throwing 3-5 yard outs. The kid is going to be a DR. why he wants to risk brain damage in a fruitless attempt to play with the pros is beyond me. The kid still was not liked by most of the team because he was a loner and just didn't have the chemistry with his teammates regardless of what the op thinks.Good night Mary Ellen!

I understand...we would need to have 453 QBs with experience for you to care

Because backup QBs that don't see the field rarely get touched. So the $350k salary seems like a pretty sweet deal for a 22 year old.

Let's just call the game off.
no need for that but if I was an Iowa fan or I should say a realistic Iowa fan. I would be wondering if last year was the perfect storm of an easy schedule, first year coaches at NU and WI and a decent team. Iowa has not been recruiting any better, Kirk is still Kirk and has not really changed - so the margin between a 5 loss year and a good year is pretty fine

Lol look at the replies to this thread and look how "realistic" Nebby fans are. At least Iowa has last season which is the best correlation to next year while you guys literally have blind faith.

Not sure what you expect on a Husker board.

so says the Iowa fan on the Nebraska board - trying to convince other fans to like their team. This argument of " because you have idiots to its ok we are idiots" is really stupid. This is an NU board so blind faith here is ok - but to take your show on the road to another board is pathetic

Common sense. I see it lacks. 12-0= "Theyre gonna suck" 5-7= "Were gonna rock".
not that is matters but was not your record last year 12-2? or did you just forget the ass kicking by Stanford. Also did you not go 7-6 in 2014 ? last year is last year it has no bearing on this year - Iowa fans of all people should know this

Iowa:
2004 -11-2; Next year 7-5.
2009 -11-2; Next year 8-5
2015 -12-2; Next year??? 7-5? 8-5?

Iowa has a pretty good trend of having one uptick year and then being a couple games above .500. I see the trend continuing.

yea i was not trying say how good he is.we will find out that answer during the season. i was just showing that michigan does have a qb with some experience.

With nothing but 4 and 5* on the roster I would say they have been under coached this century (2000) while Kirk has finished top 10 5 times .Screwball has done nothing yet.

I don't think Iowa is all that intimidating at home. We'll win the West. All this talk about OSU being so great is silly. Yes they will be decent, but any team that loses that much talent to the NFL will have their share of challenges!
Ohio State only decent, now that is funny. You will see what decent looks like on Nov 5th.

Man I used to look forward to this time of season 20 years ago before the real advent of the Internet....I'd go to the store and voraciously read every inch of every magazine out there, of course, 20 years ago there was heavy Husker mention in all magazines. Seems like the football preseason magazine era (at least hard copy) is pretty much over, so much more information out there...kinda sad in a nostalgic sort of way.

Wow, that is foreboding. How scary!
You are right on that, if I were you I wouldn't go cause you will be embarrassed beyond belief.

Gotcha. Old Person did get owned pretty good. And to double down was dumb.

Not gonna get into a pissing match about Iowa/Nebraska this year. The only thing I will say about Iowa living up to expectations this year is that it seemed like Iowa was in control most every game last season. Aside from Stanford obviously. The "closer" games were in control the last few minutes while teams scored late TDs to make it interesting. That goes against seasons like 2010 when miracles were needed.

Iowa left a lot to be desired on the OL to end the season butt he starting OL this year all have starting experience. Coupled with arguably the best QB in the conference, best DB in the nation, one of the top LB's in the country, 8 starters back on D, and 10 guys on offense with starting experience; it's easy to see how it would be hard to fall short of expectations.

Don't ever side with Mich fan Fredo unless you are naturally a suck ass.

Back about a hundred posts or so I merely said M had no ex at QB they could go either way. From that you nitwits played verbal tag over the definition of EXPERIENCED.I stopped reading because I could give a rats patoot about Mich -the OP or now you. What are you? member since 06 with almost no posts. I smell BS as you have that many in this thread-One last time I don't care bother someone who does . Also fess up to what and who you really are. SW Ia Hawks BS 40 posts in 10 years. Right little game of change with rivals my friend?

I am just glad we didn't play Wisconsin

It will be a very interesting Big Ten season
. Every team has questions this season, Iowa, Michigan and Nebraska.

It has been, since 1981, that Iowa took care of business over Nebraska at home. They have won 2 of 3 over the Cornhuskers, but only in Lincoln.

1. Ohio State - team to beat as always when it comes to B1G football. Heck, they have Urban for goodness sakes!
2. Michigan State - can one discount a team that has won 11 games five out the last six seasons. The outlier was 2012, when Iowa, Michigan and Nebraska all took the Spartans out.
3. Michigan @ Iowa on Nov. 12th in Prime-time ... will the Hawkeyes defend Kinnick again against a team with Jim Harbaugh on it?

How good will Nebraska's O-Line and D-Line be in 2016?

Play in the trenches is always important in the Big Ten ... how does Mike Riley's second team look in that regard?

Athlon's suggests 7th best O-Line, but 12th ranked D-Line, #10 LB unit and #8 secondary.

Now, all isn't Roses in Iowa City. The kicking game is a big unknown. Depth at TE, WR, DE and maybe a couple other positions could be something to watch.

Iowa is the program that leads the West coming into 2016. Favorable or manageable schedule, but all West teams play only 4 games at home, with 5 games on the B1G road, with the new 9 game B1G schedule.

Nebraska opens with 3 home games ahead of first B1G road game at Northwestern.
Iowa and Michigan open with 3 home games, with the Hawkeyes opening in the B1G at Rutgers, while Michigan gets Penn State in the Big House.

It should be very interesting to watch SLB/DB/RS Jabrill Peppers play in the Maize & Gold ...

It is going to be an interesting 2016 season.

I don't agree with 7th for our o-line, our youth beat some seasoned players. I think we will play like a top 5 o-line all year.... The youth at d-line drove off some seasoned players, when the coaches leveled with each individual to end the season and again after spring ball. On pure naturally ability they will blow up some plays; coaching appears to have improved.... Our DB's played at a higher level to end the season. no way they won't be in the upper half and actually will play a few lock down games. ...
Have to say they viewed the LB core with blinders. So much talent there and really help up the D if any group did; for many games. .... Oddly, as UCLA and MSU discovered; there are men playing for N still, many were young - but they brought it and will again at an accelerated level. If TA follows directions; we will be putting some hurt on many. All position groups can play at a top three level in any given game; makes us dangerous. GBR

I'm assuming it only shows the number of posts I've made here because I have 8,000 on Hawkeye Report. No conspiracy here.

"Mich doesn't have a QB with ANY experience". That means zero, none, nada.

As an Iowa fan I know their success sometimes is razor thin and depends on things falling together nicely. I know Iowa isn't super talented compared to some teams so it leaves little wiggle room each game for them. On the flip side though, they compete and are in (minus Stanford) almost every game they play by design.

I personally think Neb is on the uptick and should see a few more wins this year than last. Like I said earlier, the west should be pretty fun as most teams are pretty even. Some things that I see separating them are QB play and schedule, which is why i think Iowa has to have a slight edge as a favorite right now. I also don't think Iowa is good enough on offense to not show up and win either so I could see them dropping a game or two they probably shouldn't. God knows KF has done that before.

Northwestern has never won a date in a Championship game, so maybe they are due for one, but they have some holes to fill. They didn't look good at Michigan and against Iowa last year. They open the Big Ten hosting Nebraska, so that will be a big, big game. 10-3 last year, but we shall see what Pat Fitzgerald puts together without some key seniors back.

It will be an interesting 2016. Northwestern will give teams a good game. But, do they do something they have not done, unlike Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska?
