Dowdell to the portal

Almost has to be one of two things. Either he wanted more money and he thought he could get it or he was unhappy with what he thought his touches would be going forward. I was only half joking when I said maybe he got his feelings hurt. Dana doesn't mince words
That burned redshirt really hurts players like him. If he ended up down the bench in 2025, he would only have 1 year to maximize his NIL. Which would be tough if for some reason he was 3rd string.

Oregon had Phil Knight's blank check and let him go. I'm guessing Rhule let him know he was only going to be a short-yardage back OR asked him to move to LB. I think Dowdell's lack of vision negates his size and explosiveness. He likes to hit people though so LB seems like a much better fit for his football future. If you don't have good RB instincts by now you are not going to develop them.

With that said, I do like him as a short-yardage RB. He does not get stuffed easily and has a nice burst for his size.

Williams went to high school in Missouri I'm pretty sure. They both start with M though so......
Williams left to continue his mentorship under someone he has very publicly and very often called the closest thing he has ever had to a father (Pot Roast).

Pretty straightforward and very understandable.

Agreed, but why even go through the charade of picking then? To drive up the NIL price for FSU? Seems relatively drawn out if this was already a done deal.

It’s the first time in his life he’s been highly sought after.

He’s a kid. Former walkon. Enjoying his moment.

Sorry he didn’t ask your permission first.

Nothing to do with my permission. Just surprised it took him and FSU 8+ days to finalize a supposedly pre-determined deal. Good for him if he made Knighton and FSU actually recruit him.

I thought you said this white dude was a done deal

Un, he is

😅

The Dowdell situation is interesting. He thinks he is much more than he has shown.

I think our coaches were straight up with him and carved out a small roll, but that will not be good enough for him when the window of opportunity is small. Try to get paid now or maybe never get paid in the future of professional football.

Now he has to bet on himself. It all comes down to what teams out there need a certain player more than you do.

When the team is not in a position to succeed due to unforeseen circumstances, you call a timeout.

Even more so if it could lead to a review in your favor.

Super simple.

For everyone but you, I guess.
Like I said in a previous post, DR could have called a timeout. As the QB, it is his responsibility to examine the defense, the placement of the ball, and determine if the play call will work. These guys aren’t robots like you think they are. Yes, Rhule could/should have called timeout. He didn’t. That doesn’t excuse DR. DR was a freshman but DH says he’s not like a freshman. He still made plenty of freshman mistakes and this situation at OSU is just one example.

Do you watch the NFL? Watch how many coaches have to call timeouts to avoid delay of game or because they have a bad call for the defense. Those are professional qbs, many years removed from their freshman year of college.
