A family has praised their ‘heroic’ pet dog who they say took a rattlesnake bite for a seven-year-old girl.
Haus, a two-year-old German Shepherd, protected Molly DeLuca from the snake in a backgarden in Tampa, Florida.
The girl’s mother, Donya DeLuca, said their beloved dog “kept taking hits” from the snake, adding: “I don’t know if she would have made it” [if her daughter was bitten].
“The bond that they have created in a short time has been unbelievable,” she told FOX 13 .
“She saw him jump back, and go forward, and jump back and go forward. He was just, kind of, holding his ground.”
She added: “He kept taking hits, she [Molly] was on the other side of him, and so was my mum.
