help or hurt them come Saturday? Both the Wildcats and Nebraska spent a lot of emotion and physical efforts in their victories, which one has enough in the tank to pull out the win?

It should be another gut wrenching affair (watch what you eat before the game, it might come up towards the end) and hopefully another fun ending for the Huskers.

I haven’t seen enough data about how teams perform after a multiple OT game. My guess is probably not much change. While the game required a lot of effort, a week later shouldn’t matter. I’d guess they have some positive momentum and a winning record. This is a dangerous team but one that Nebraska can beat and should beat at home.

Northwestern is a scrappy team and always brings their A game whenever they play us. They certainly don’t fear us in Lincoln and we’ve only beaten them 1 out of 3 times here since joining the B1G (and it took a Hail Mary for us to get that win).

I just hope our team doesn’t sleepwalk for 3 1/2 Quarters before realizing it’s game time.

Can't be anything compared to the beating the Cats took the previous week from the Bullies of the Big Ten.

Hopefully they're as beat up as Nebraska is right now. Man we have a bunch of injuries in our back 8.

Yeah. We are banged up on defense for sure. But I am also extremely worried about Decker's injury. I hope he can play this Saturday. No offense to Cole Conrad, who plays his ass off. But Decker is just the better athlete

Center is a big concern no doubt but we did win that game with Conrad at center. It isn't like we were running through gaping holes with Decker in there.

Agreed. You really have to be impressed with Tanner Lee. Damn. We had zero running game and Purdue was thus able to blanket our receivers but Lee kept finding the open guy. And that last drive was a thing of beauty. His passes were spot-on accurate. Hoppes is going to be a stud. If we could just find a way to get our run blocking up to speed we would have a really good offense. It all begins with the hogs up front.

I was watching the PSU-OSU game on YouTube last night. In my opinion, Penn State was lucky that OSU played like shit on special teams and kept fumbling early on. Because the PSU offensive line was getting mauled by the OSU defense. And by the fourth quarter they were waving the white flag. And the OSU offensive line just got stronger as the game went on and wore down the PSU defense.

My point is that a great offensive line is a must-have in college football if you want to compete with the big boys. On defense, having a great line is obviously great, but an average to slightly above average defensive line can be compensated for just a bit with great play from the back 7. But the entire offense depends on having a solid line.

Is Cav the right guy to get us there? Is he bringing in the recruits? Seems the answer to both is no. But I am ignorant really of those kinds of X's and O's. If Riley is retained I am sure he will make this priority number one. He shot himself in the foot with the Hank Hughes hire, which set our defensive line recruiting back big time. Seems he made a similar mistake bringing in Cav. Thoughts?

It creates a lot of confidence, but to suggest they might be zapped of energy is a little much. Hell, they've had more time to rest now than Nebraska.

Games between teams like Iowa, Nebraska, Purdue, Northwestern, Minnesota, Maryland, and Michigan State are really built around matchups at this point.

Ironically, Nebraska matches up well with NW, Minnesota, and even Iowa the rest of the way.

I made that point about matchups right after the OSU drubbing. I think wins over everybody but PSU are very possible. We need PSU to have some key injuries for us to have a chance.
