Flags...that can be fixed and will be fixed.
Maybe it is just me but NU passes I expect guys open and it seems like Langs always gets guys open. I love it!
Yes, the defense let up yards but it is 4 games...it is a work in progress.

I see real issues in the second and third levels of our defense. The fact we have no depth at line backer and we have the wrong style of corners to play press man is a concern.

Raid the Juco's and get some experience at both levels and let the young defensive line talent coming up mature, and this team should be able to fix its defensive issues.

I see a lot to get excited about! Yes there are plenty of hiccups, but those are expected after a coaching change. If Riley and Co. can recruit some elite talent, we may have something.

I couldn't understand our failure to sustain our momentum into the second half.

If you haven't seen real issues, then I would propose:

a) you're 12 years old
b) You completely blocked out the Callahan years.

i can't understand not finishing drives against a team like so miss.

Not finishing drives, at least in this game. Also, our secondary is a huge concern. I think we need to do something schematically so our CBS aren't left on an island.

If the flags can and will be fixed, why haven't they been fixed already? Aren't we seeing some of the same mistakes and breakdowns we saw in week one? The secondary is a HUGE concern. They are not playing well or with confidence. I keep hearing that we will see improvement with this coaching staff, but I haven't seen it yet. Some point to injuries and that is certainly had some impact, however S. Miss has inferior talent and should have been beaten by at least 3 TDs. There will be no gimmes in conference play if this team doesn't improve. 6-6 is a real possibility. The only thing that plays to NU's advantage is the lack of pure passing teams in the B1G though we face one next week. I truly have no idea what to expect from this team from week to week.

It's not as easy as flipping a switch to get discipline through to kids who haven't had it in the last seven years. There were several bogus flags in this game and yes the taunting penalty was really dumb after the bogus pass interference, but that is more of the old coach showing through.

Give it time it's a process not a quick fix.

That's my issue - we have 3 former/current DC's on the staff, and they can't figure out how to limit the opposing teams success thru the air
