Did anyone just see the UNI/UTerus finish?

I yelled so loud when it went through that my wife jumped up and asked what was wrong. What a shot. Good night of hoops.

Unbelievable. I can't stop watching the shot. That's exactly how I envisioned UNI winning when I picked them.

I hope UNI makes another run. They are the #3 school in that state, and 9 of 12 on the roster are from Iowa. And they just won a tourney game as a low seed.

Those who think Nebraska should be able to get to the NCAA Dance every year, do you think Nebraska could have 9/12 players from in state and win a tourney game?

I was at Holy Ghost church helping clean-up after the fish fry. I was mopping the kitchen floor when I suddenly hear a huge burst of Oooooooo. Then I saw the replay. Kid should have called "off the glass". This is what makes the tourney great. The real stunner was Michigan State going down today.

Couldn't have happened to a better team.
I yelled so loud, I woke up my wife upstairs in bed. She came storming down the stairs and did not calm down until I showed her the replay!

the state of Iowa has more teams into the second round than the state of Texas

I've said it before and I'll say it again even thought it is painful, but top to bottom Iowa high school basketball is way ahead of Nebraska. If we could have a true Cinderella win the Dance this year, I'd want UNI.

Made sweeter because UT had just tied it up. Give the Horn fans a little hope and then snatch it away. Perfection.

Iowa also has twice as many people in the state living than Nebraska.
Iowa highs school Basketball has always had a lot of good basketball players in the state.

Well aware of the population, of the state of Iowa, which is still small compared to the nation. I'd bet iF you compare the states based on population percentage they'd still be way ahead.

Sioux City is like 85,000 and Cedar Rapids is like 160,000, both smaller that Lincoln, but I'd bet they produce more D1 talent than Lincoln on just about any year.

Grand Island-Kearney-Hastings area is bigger than Sioux City, Dubuque, Mason City, even Davenport.

Heck Ames Iowa has 2 players in the NBA. Yes they are talented, but would they have developed to that level in Nebraska? Omaha ......maybe.

Gesell from South Sioux City IMO benefited greatly from being in close proximity to Sioux City and being able to play with those players over the summer.

So why does Iowa have good players all over when Des Moines is significantly smaller than Omaha Metro, and their 2nd largest city Cedar Rapids is significantly smaller than Lincoln? It isn't population only.

Who was the last basketball player out of Lincoln to sign with a power 5 conference school? If there has been on since Matt Hill at SE then I'm drawing a blank on who it is.

I've said it before but I believe the talent level in Omaha will continue to improve, but what about the rest of the state?

I really enjoy watching or hearing about UT (University of Tex-a$$) loose at anything...just can't stand them, but I fail to see or understand how referring to them as "UTerus", the organ in the lower body of a woman where offspring are conceived and in which they gestate before birth; the womb, is somehow derogatory. After all, if you have children, that is ultimately where they came from...just don't make no sense at all.

Maybe this will help...

I am offended that this offends you.

Beats me but I've watched several NCAA tournament games over the last several years and seen starters from Chadron, Kimball, and Ainsworth off the top of my head

The state of Iowa has a lot of high school talent. Don't forget about Kirk Hinrich (Sioux City West), Nick Collison (Iowa Falls High), Kyle Korver from (Pella), Harrison Barnes (Ames High), and Marcus Paige (Linn-Mar High). None of them went to an Iowa college.

Kirk Heinrich, Nick Collison and Raef LaFrentz all from Iowa and all were at Kansas at the roughlly the same time with Roy Williams - all had long NBA careers

all 3 of those guys leaving the state is, in part, what got Tom Davis on the hot seat and eventually let go
