A 5? I went back and listened to his introductory comments again this morning. He made several references to the Power 5 as the A 5 (yet continued to use the terms FCS and FBS). A quick Google search produced no results for "A 5" in the context of college football. Just a small detail, but clearly it was intentional.

I wonder if this is Delany's term or a term that is being kicked around by the Power 5 commissioners. I wonder if it signals further movement towards a complete and total separation of the Power 5 from the FBS.

I listened to it live and caught it too. I thought he was interchanging p for a. I just figured the a maybe stiod for automatic

Thanks. I think you are right. However, I'm a pretty avid college football fan, live and breath this stuff, and I've never heard anyone reference the Power 5 as the "Autonomy 5" or "A5." But, I'm sure it references the NCAA's vote a few years back to give the P5 autonomy from the FBS. Appreciate your insight.
