Ran a 4.34 at the camp he was discovered at to get the attention of Husker coaches. That was high school.

It's sounding more and more like he will be a big factor in our secondary this season. Kudos to the coaches for finding an under the radar gem.

When we were recruiting him, HCMR said we found someone that really just makes plays all over the field; and gets there fast.

No, he wasn't a good CB. How about you let Bootle play a snap as a red shirt frosh before comparing him to Davie.

Davie was a very good CB prospect until Banker/Stewart got a hold of him, and could test out
Iike a freak, much like Bootle. Got a shot in the NFL too.

So let me get this straight. You think Banker is the cause of his downfall because he coached him for one of his five seasons at Nebraska? A season where he was limited due to multiple injuries.
" Just the facts Jack "; love it! Take a troll hunt trophy, one ambiguity disguised category win. GBR

This sounds like something a Miami fan said right before Cory Schlesinger took the Canes manhood in the 4th quarter.

Nice Husker zing, but in general there are more good football players in Miami than all of the State of Nebraska (at any HS division).

Which is what makes the Mackovica and Schlesingers special, basically unicorns. (It could also be noted most Husker zing relies on the OL or the FB, not skill positions. Even most Husker fans wants imported skill talent).

No he never got a "shot."
He tested off the charts so he earned an invite to a weekend OTA tryout. He would've earned two free meals and travel money for his illustrious NFL career.

Davie had TERRIBLE ball skills and struggled to understand game situations. The other thing about Bootle was his production matched his athletic ability. He was lightly recruited because he played for one of the worst Urban programs in Miami.

Check out his Senior Film. He's not only great in coverage. His pursuit and tackling ability is tremendous. The kid is the real deal, and will give Nebraska a real boost at Nickel:

Very nice that Bootle has emerged. I remember looking at his track times after he signed. The kid can flat out move and hopefully has the on the field things figured out to play Power 5 football.

I actually agree with this. Davie had alot of athletic ability and looked good, or at least promising, before the coaching change. I think Davie is a fair comparison for Bootle, but so is Chris Jones. Pretty lightly recruited, huge upside athletically.
