Defense against CU

May I suggest a 3-8 alignment? Maybe a 4-7. I think we will see a lot of corners and safeties playing.
Make them earn it. This is where a LB with speed like Fields would be nice to have ready.

Robinson better plan on playing a lot in the 2nd half because we are already thin on the DL.

The fact that Javin Wright and Tommi Hill played quite a bit last week is now seen as very valuable. Wright has always had a high level of natural athleticism and Hill is very athletic as well.

Yea this isn’t going to be good at all next week… the buffs have them selves a few play makers. Prime time looks to have made himself a pretty competitive team

If they get a big lead on us it may be lights out .
Yup. If they get up by 10 or so it'll probably be over. I think White will have a good game plan but not sure we have the athletes to pull it off. Gotta have a vintage Nebraska ground game and control the clock. Pummel the shit out of their D!

They got about 3-4 legit dudes on offense, but if (big if) they bottle Sanders and number 3, Horn and Hunter won’t matter. It’s going to be a tough challenge for our defense, but I also think TCU’s young defense made Colorado look a little better than they are.

All that being said, with what we’ve seen from Sims, if we get down 17-21 points the game is over.

TCU might give up 40 a game this year.
They sucked last year and nothing looks to have changed. QB is worse and no big time reciever. K State wins the league.

I agree. We gotta make Sanders uncomfortable because when he has time, yikes.

TCU has never played D
I agree but we've seen what great athletes can do to us. They will make some unbelievable plays. If we don't set the tone really early this could be a nightmare game with millions of eyeballs watching. Emotions will be high. Hopefully our guys will have it.

Two things here.
1) I like the idea the staff has film on them and can game plan differently than what TCU defense had to contend with..
On the other hand
2) They have seen our defense which runs 3-3-5 and they already seen what kind schemes that TCU ran..

Man they made some plays , whew. Belief is gonna be high.

Our DBs are supposed to be the strength of the team and 7 DBs could be on the field next Saturday, if you consider that Wright and Bullock have DB skills. White’s positionless defense vs. the Sanders kid operating with a high degree of confidence.

OC Sean Lewis was a great hire for Colorado.

DC Tony White was a great hire for Nebraska.

The matchup of these Coordinators will decide the outcome IMO. If Nebraska can hold the Buffs under 24 they have a legit shot at a road W (assuming they run the GD ball, unlike last week at MN).

Yep. 12-0. Winning the title
I mean I wouldn’t say that, but whatever floats your boat…. I get your sarcasm here but even you can’t deny they made themselves competitive, they’ve brought in some players… I get that you’re anti all things Colorado and sanders but look what we did vs what they did in game one, and who they did it against…Sims isn’t putting up 540 yards vs any defense this year… and has already showed he will put up 4 ints before putting up 4 TDs…. We don’t have playmakers to really play with any team from what I seen in game one… yea Colorado will lose some, how many is yet to be seen, but they’re going to be competitive, they showed up when it mattered most, vs a team that was in the CFP last year… yea they’re different from last year, but they are still a better team that Minnesota… the gophers will not end up doing much this year, and we couldn’t show up vs them…. I just call what I see, and I see Colorado with play makers and I don’t see us with any

We need to run the ball effectively. Good news is I feel our line run blocks better than pass blocks....3 rushers get pressure on our qb. CU line looks better pass blocking than run blocking. Sanders is money with no pressure. Bring some heat and he's not as good and not super fast. Our D definitely better than TCU.

TCU lost a ton off last years team

why are you comparing Colorado’s offense to Nebraska’s. I don’t care if Sims ever puts up 500 yards passing. That is t what Nebraska’s offense is designed to do.

I really don’t even care about Colorado or Sanders to be honest. I am just tired of the comparison from game one of a season.

Having tape has to help us compared to TCU. Gameplan for both teams is obvious. Comes down to who can execute. Going to be interesting for both teams facing such vastly different 2nd opponents.

What Colorado did on offense to TCU is comparable to what we did on defense to Minnesota… They were competitive, and so are we. Just different sides of the ball. It’ll be interesting to see which wins out next week, their offense or our defense.

I can appreciate that, I can understand where you’re coming from here… I guess my response would be I’m not necessarily comparing offenses as I am QBs… the ones that the game revolves around…

I think it’s natural for a lot of us to be concerned even after just one game, no one can argue that Colorado looked good, they looked fast, and looked skilled… Nebraska meanwhile looked ok, made some plays but it didn’t look like we could count on our QB to make a play when needed, or WRs to get open, that is where you need things to happen.

You really can’t even argue that they played a better team than we did and they still looked better… granted it is only one game like you said but I see plenty of reason to be concerned about the game… you still play it because anything can happen and our D looked good last week… the bad thing, TCU also plays a 3-3-5, so this won’t be the buffs first time seeing it. I do think our D looked a lot better especially as the game went on, and the secondary finally woke up, we were shaky to start off though…

Either way again I can appreciate and get where you’re coming from, it’s only a one game sample, but still concerning

Im still taking us by 10. **** Colorado! GBR!!!
Unless the Huskers can run the clock and have success running the ball, I see this as a CU blow out. CU has a super QB and receivers. I hope I am wrong however but based upon watching both games and the fact that CU is at home , I do not see a Husker win.

To me, Colorado stood out as being just as one-dimensional as Nebraska... They struggled to run the ball between the tackles... They were somewhere in the ballpark of 28 rushes by their backs for 80 yards... Add in Sheduer's negative yardage and they were 34 carries for 55 yards... They definitely get the ball out in space and let their skill guys try to work... The amount of missed tackles and YACs TCU gave up led to big passing yard numbers... Needless to say, Nebraska will need to pressure Sheduer on the longer dropbacks and tackle well in space on the check-downs, swings, and screens...

Think CU & TCU both were amongst the teams with the highest player turnover in the NCAA. Both brand new teams, essentially.

Kinda like NU vs Georgia Southern?

Of course it’s only one game and a lot of things can happen yet this season, but you cannot deny how good CU looked. Honestly, they looked like an old Oklahoma team with those athletes. Maybe CU comes out next game and looks like garbage and the Huskers pound them on Saturday, who knows? If each team plays like their respective game one, we’ve got our hands full.

They looked more like the Houston Cougars with Andre Ware and the Klingler brothers. Can’t run the ball and throw 50 passes for 400-500 yards each game.

I hope Rhule puts together a scheme where we run and set up screens for hunter to have to make tackles and get blocked. Every play. Running won’t wear him out. Let’s pound him when he’s on defense. Force him to take on a block or make a tackle every play and see what he’s got left late. Might not work but id like to test him physically. Nebraska has to turn this into a back alley brawl and hope the Louis bags don’t want anything to do with it.
