Here were his confidence poll picks for the Big Ten games with 1 being the least confident and 40 being the most confident.

Georgia over Penn State 40
Stanford over Iowa 38
Tennessee over Northwestern 37
Notre Dame over Ohio State 28
USC over Wisconsin 27
UCLA over Nebraska 26
Florida over Michigan 21
Alabama over Michigan State 18
Duke over Indiana 15
Central Michigan over Minnesota 2

Yes, that's right. He's predicting the conference will go 0-10

I wouldn't be surprised if the conference did go 0-10, but I doubt it, should at least get to 3-7, though 11-0 would be nice.

It's the degree of confidence that shows the stupidity more than the 0-10. He picked the Pac 10 to go undefeated as well. He is what he is and that is paid to get people talking. A more athletic Colin Cowherd basically.

Kannell loves to stir people up. He was successful here. That said, when I look at his picks, they aren't unreasonable. I hope they don't go 0-10, but it is within reason.

Agree, outside of Ohio State, which I think will handle 'ND, pretty hard to argue with those picks. If Kannell goes 60% or better with those picks, I'd call that pretty successful. If he goes 9/10 or gawd forbid 10/10, I hope the OP will come back and eat some crow.

Will he eat crow if he is wrong? Of course not. None of those people ever do. They are all the same-spew a bunch of outrageous stuff just to get people riled up and then never admit you are wrong about anything. Sports talk radio hosts are entertainers first and foremost, not necessarily knowledgeable analysts. Personally, I am not entertained by any of that nonsense.

Don't agree with that. I've heard many a talk show hosts poke fun at themselves for being wrong, and in fact I'd say they do it on purpose sometimes so people will relate better to them and in turn maybe boost their ratings? IDK, that part speculation on my part, but I've heard many mea culpa's from sports personalities..

You have my word. I'll be here if the big ten loses 9 out of 10. If the big ten wins 6, what will you do?

Really? Specifics please.
Penn State over Georgia. Georgia beat no one this year. They have a coaching transition and no nick Chubb.

Indiana over Duke. Indiana can score on anyone.

Ohio State over Notre Dame because they're just better.

Michigan over Florida. Florida's offense went to hell at the end of the year and they have no QB. They won't score much on Michigan.

Minnesota over CMU. It's a mediocre MAC team. I know Minnesota isn't great but we got this one.

Iowa over Stanford. If Northwestern's Oline could push around Stanford, Iowa's will destroy them.

So that's 6.

Northwestern over Tennessee. I'm partial but we should be able to stack the box with Vam Hoose and Harris on the outside against their WRs that aren't great. We should be able to stop the Tennessee running attack.

I'm not picking MSU over Alabama, but I'm done picking against MSU.

I'd also pick USc over Wisconsin, but Wisconsin could play dunk and dink in the passing game vs a poor USC defense and shut down USC's offense as Wisconsin has the #1 defense in the country.

Could be 9. I think UCLA has you guys if they're motivated to play (sorry to break it down and not pick you). Riley could install more offense as he has 15 extra practices. I think the size of his playbook was tough on Armstrong which led to lots of mistakes on his part. A month to step back and learn could help.

Kannell is freaking awesome!!!

I swear, every single freaking sports personality is called a tool on this board, every freaking one. I guess I am wondering if some of you guys like anyone who talks sports for a living? Rusillo and Kannell is a great show.
The reason most hate sports personalities on this board is that they have not expected Nebraska to do anything since the turn of the century - and they have been 100% correct. Truth sucks.

Hey that's some solid opinion right there. You actually may have changed my mind on 2 games (Michigan & Indiana...and I didn't see the Minn. CMU game earlier at all, so that's 3. Hope we do even better, and I can't wait to watch.

Oh my gawd man. Cowherd, and now Kannell? Just terrible. I can actually, on some level, get that there are people who like Cowherd, but Kannell is a freaking moron with the screen presence of a door knob. Rusillo is good, but Kannell looks like he struggles to come up with a thought, any thought. It is physically painful to watch that guy. And just imagine what Rusillo is thinking, going from one of the best in the biz, to this clown?

Yes, I like Cowherd AND Kannell. Though I haven't heard Cowherd since he left ESPN, I loved his show.

About the only sports personality that pops into my head I can't stand, and "I am using the word hate here" (for those of you who enjoyed the movie "As Good As It Gets") is Dan Libatard. I cannot stand flaming anything, and he is the biggest flaming liberal I've ever heard speak, ESPN is scraping the bottom of the barrel with that guy.

This is where people need to hammer him hard when he is wrong. As in disembowel him on social media. Like "Nice picks, you gutless ever-flowing sebaceous stain on the sports world. Now brush your teeth, because you've had nothing but shit flowing out of your mouth since early December."

Yep. If a guy doesn't drool over the Huskers, they suck! God forbid a color guy on tv says anything positive about whoever we are playing that particular day or WORSE something negative about the huskers!

That's a pretty low bar anymore. All you have to do is pick against a team of any sorts, and the fans climb all over you and never forget it. So it's really easy to stir people up, but I couldn't disagree more. He seems like a really level headed guy who goes out of his way not to stir the pot just for the sake of doing it, and while I am an admitted Cowherd fan even I think he goes over the top once and a while on purpose.

Example of why I like Kannell's show, just yesterday I was listening to him laugh at himself for his NFL "Career". It was a great segment. Brock Huard was his guest, or at least I think it was him. I love listening to people who can laugh at themselves at the highest level.

Some people hate the fact that the B1G has really turned it around and isn't the worst in the Power 5 any more. Kannell is ok but he is trolling with his picks. His ND over tOSU tells you all you need to know. Notice Vegas doesn't think the same way, as Michigan, tOSU, Indiana, & Minnesota as favorites. The fact that Tennessee is a big favorite IMO is mind blowing. Northwestern is 10-2 with a nice win over Standford, the team that Kannell loves to nutt hug on. Why is everyone so high on the Vols all of a sudden? What did they do? Lose every game that mattered? Sure they won their last 5, but come on, look at that weak second half schedule. They were 3-4 and finished 8-4. They didn't "turn it around" their schedule just got very easy.

Any way, the way I see it right now

B1G losses
Stanford over Iowa
USC over Wisconsin
UCLA over Nebraska

B1G Wins
Northwestern over Tennessee
Ohio State over Notre Dame
Michigan over Florida
Indiana over Duke
Minnesota vs Central Michigan

Too Close too call
Georgia vs. Penn State - (UGA has better talent but no motivation, PSU has all the
Alabama vs. Michigan State

Right up until last seasons bowl games, which would be less than one year ago, the B1G was considered the worst P5 conference, or at least in the discussion. Bowl season came and went and most reasonable people know it's a much improved conference now. I hear many sports personalities say it, so that doesn't really seem accurate to me. As far as his picks versus what Vegas thinks? Who cares? It's Kannell's radio show, he is paid to talk about this stuff, and I don't want anyone just rehashing what Vegas thinks. That seems silly to hold his picks against him, before a single game is played, and even then, if you had a radio show to fill and had to make picks because you were paid to talk about this stuff, I am sure some of your opinions would fly in the face of Vegas. Would that make you a troll? No, of course not.

I like Iowa over Stanford more and more as time goes on. When I look at Northwestern Stanford, our, not very great, offensive line got some decent push against Stanford's front. Justin Jackson managed to run the ball efficiently gaining 4.8 YPC. To me, that's what happens when your dline is in the 270 range and not the 290 range.

Northwestern has a good defensive front that got after a lot of teams. We got ran the f over in the second half against Iowa. Iowa has at least 2 guys that will be playing in the NFL next year on the Oline in Blythe and Croston. Myers and Welsh are sophomores and should be NFL guys too. They're going to run over Stanford.

Agree with some of this but it's funny how being a fan blinds a person. Not in same ballpark with Tennessee.

The Nebraska team I saw tonight was impressive. Oline beat the hell out UCLA and they ran it right down the throats. TA played phenomenal. After NG got the boot for the bs targeting call I thought they find another way to lose a game. The 3rd qtr was a work of art..credit to the coaches game plan and the players executing that plan.
Great win Huskers.

Big ten was 5-5 by my count. Not quite the 6 I needed to brag but far from the 9 Kannell needed for me to eat crow. See you all in Evanston next year... I know you'll ALL be there.

B1G had some tough matchups, I'll take 5-5, I thought it would be worse to be honest. Kannell may not have been right about the 0-10, but on the flip side if he had picked Nebraska to win, then UCLA fans would be calling him a tool, etc, etc. When you're a sports talk personality you automatically piss off at least 50% of the people listening to you, it's the nature of the beast because every fan base thinks their being disrespected all the time.

three of the five losses were to the SEC. Three of the five losses were in a blowout fashion. There is certainly some work to do by the conference as a whole but five and five is better than what a lot of people who get paid to make predictions seem to want

Here were his confidence poll picks for the Big Ten games with 1 being the least confident and 40 being the most confident.

Georgia over Penn State 40
Stanford over Iowa 38
Tennessee over Northwestern 37

UCLA over Nebraska 26
Florida over Michigan 21
Alabama over Michigan State 18
Duke over Indiana 15
Central Michigan over Minnesota 2

Yes, that's right. He's predicting the conference will go 0-10

to be fair --- his first three predictions --- Penn State, Iowa, NW losses were rated as his most confident and weighted the heaviest

He was +46 on his predictions of bowl games involving BIG teams ... if he bet $100 on each confidence point he assigned to the games he would have taken home $4600
