Dannen has the mercenary CEO feel of, I am going to do the things that better places expect me to do to seem good at my job. Open up revenue options, every decision is about the bottom line, do things that might seem out of touch or disconnected from the humanity of the place but it makes the most money...plop all of that on a resume and promote out. College football to fans is a DEEPLY personal experience, a very human experience but to him and most traveling ADs it is purely about creating visible monetary change to get promoted. I don't know if that is better than having someone that loves NU or not...a lot of the people who profess to love NU, seem to love themselves more. Always going to be a disconnect between coaches who are scamming for a 80 million dollar contract, and ADs who are creating changes to purely make money, vs fans and alums who just love and are fanatics for the N. We certainly know that making more money(ie joining the big 10) doesn't equate to winning more.
