Is that what he meant by his question? I'm probably confused, but I thought he was sarcastically asking whether it's okay to feel positive about anything related to the Nebraska program. You know, since the only accepted position on this board now is to hate Rhule and be negative about everything.
The question was, "Is it okay to feel good about this?" Prior to that it was that DH had a 2 yr contract, which evolved into RBMax asking if "Dana will pick his WR coach?" Then there was a tweet that McGuire was not going to be retained.
At that point, I made my comments about the kid and the fact he's grown up on 3rd base and will be just fine.
He didn't say what you are saying. There was nothing said about if its okay to feel positive about anything related to the Nebraska program....that's what you said.
Rhule or Rhule hate had nothing to do with this thread.
I like Matt, I've never hated anyone in my life, I just think Matt is overrated bigtime.
If the person I responded to had a problem he should have said something and I would have responded.

No question, I honestly thought he was being humorous and asking whether it's ok to feel good about anything re Nebraska. Look around, positivity is in short supply. I'm pretty damn ecstatic about Holgorsen being here for the immediate future.
I’m probably the only one who thinks winning this bowl game is important for this team. I’m optimistic about the offense but we just lost some pretty big pieces on defense. I’m not sure how quickly we’ll hire a DC. I figured we might lose White but didn’t expect it before the bowl game. Really didn’t expect Pot Roast to stab Rhule in the back like this. I guess he was good buds with Cooper and was pissed about him getting canned.
It is important. We need to break the string of losing seasons.
It was a repeated HR violation involving a female staff member as I understand it. Rhule I think was forced by NU policy and legal to fire him. At least it didn’t involve underage prostitutes like one of Bo’s assistants.
I am pretty sure you said this last week, and I asked you to find me one season back then or even under Osborne where they ran less than 68 percent of the time. It was crickets. It isn't hard to look into.

Ok, props to Matt for getting DH to agree to come on board. This is going to be a big help to him to make improvements on the offensive side of the ball. It's a much needed shot in the arm offensively.
Now Matt has to do the same for DC and ST.
They also have to plug holes on defense and try and level up everywhere that they need to via the signing class and portal.
The most interesting thing about this to me is how the relationship with DH goes over time. I think he's more direct than Bo and probably won't put up with half the crap Bo did too. Husker fans & media are going to have to chill out big time in dealing with him.

Mike Norvell just got TW away from Nebraska with top 20 offenses since he's been here. Then proceeded to hire Gus Malzahn who had a top 20 rushing offense since almost forever. Not extremely high on Gus Malzahn but damn that SEEMS like a baller move to me......hiring top 20 coordinators.

The difference is that Dana won’t have to face the media every week. Bo was required to answer questions after every game. He didn’t have the temperament to handle that part of the job.
Tony’s defense is a better fit at FSU than for the B1G and they already have the dudes that can run it. If our portal guys think they’ll be transferring to FSU I think they might be disappointed.
Dude has a temperament as a coordinator that sports scribes love. Blunt and quotable. Whipp was too crusty, Banker was a hoot, Diaco was weird.
