I personally believe Damon should be pursued hard for this role.
He knows the position, has played at an elite level. He knows what it takes to be an elite running back (though with minimal coaching experience, and none at this level).
He is connected and respected by the metro coaches and athletes and would make a great recruiter in the prime area we are lackin (Omaha metro), where in state RB talent has been born, bred, and left Nebraska recently.
He is a tie to the old (Thom and Frost) regime, yet has been exposed to each subsequent coaching staff and seen how it should NOT be done.
He is a known name from the broadcasting ranks.
He is a really good guy and very personable which makes him relatable to all. In addition, it helps unite the fan base as he is a household Nebraska name.
He could work with Ron Brown to combine their experience in coaching with their history.
He could DEFINITELY give RSS an insider viewpoint that way!
