Damar Hamlin: “Did we win?”

I’m assuming something like long QT syndrome would have been found on his physical? Doesn’t that make him prone to R on T?

Many moons ago I spent a quality afternoon in the orthodondist chair and could not speak....so I had to write things out....I was starving but eating was a day away so I thought McDonalds shake!!! I go to counter, write out my order in front of them, they all tbought I waa deaf and dumb....manager came up and personally helped me..no charge. A better person would have told them the truth, haha. Scored a free strawberry shake that day. One of many reasons I'm prolly going to hell.
My humble analysis would say that your offense is like the equivalent of a zero star recruit for hell. Doesn’t mean you don’t belong, but no one is really looking for you to go there based on your resume.
Nothing wrong with giving a free shake to a guy fresh out the orthodontist chair.

Hopefully he has saved money and been insured (probably crazy expensive for NFL players if even possible) to take care of his family. I don't see him ever playing again. Compared to life, playing football is not important.
I tend to agree, but also try to understand/respect someone who feels football is their life. If he wanted to make a comeback, I would personally say it’s irresponsible, but would (reluctantly) accept his choice.

It actually reminds me of Alex Honnold’s “Free Solo.” I find it very irresponsible to go rock climbing without ropes, but I can somehow respect his choice to risk his own life.
HOWEVER, I struggle accepting the notion of filming a documentary about it for millions of viewers to watch. Some things should probably be kept from the public spectacle.

An NFL comeback would obviously be quite the spectacle, so that adds a layer of social responsibility vs. simply pursuing one’s passion in private.

Lots to consider:

1) Did he suffer a low grade brain injury when he had cardiac arrest? Does he need rehab?
2) Was the arrest just from the blow to the chest or did he have any underlying heart issues?
3) After a near death experience, would he be psychologically willing to play again? I wouldn’t.
This ^^^^. Well said. I would retire from football if I am Hamlin. A similar reccuring hit could be fatal or career-ending. But I wouldn't rule out after his recovery, Hamlin may pull a McKenzie Milton and return to playing.

All of these guys are screened with EKGs during their physicals. Nebraska players all used to get EKG screenings then stress tests if anything was unusual.
