Omaha's own Erik Sorenson covers the action. He includes this little nugget..

NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME PLAYERS
– Nebraska.
Ugh. My home state Cornhuskers, what have you done?

With today’s 7-4 loss to Holy Cross, the Big 10 regular season champions went 0-and-2, losing to a pair of teams from the Northeast. It’s the second straight season that the Big Red has gone 0-fer in the Big Dance. The only difference is that last year’s losses were to Oklahoma State and Western Carolina.

Dang, Erik, do you have to tell the whole world?

Ugly when you read it again on paper. After really thinking about it again, 24 hours later, I'm under the opinion that we underperformed this year considering who we returned. Yes, we had some injuries in the bullpen but more often when we lost it wasn't because of a depleted bullpen. Heck we had guys that would go through a weekend series not used at all or used just once.

I'm not sure this mentality changes in one year either but I hope I'm wrong. If it is the same coaching staff you will probably see more of the same. Erstad needs to reach out to sports psychologist and figure out how to mentally prepare the millennial mindframe.
