D1Baseball's Stock Report is where they cover all the thinking they use to organize their bracket predictions. Lots of good stuff in there but it does require a subscription.

Here's what they think on the Big Ten

Big Ten (4 bids)
SAFELY IN: Michigan, Maryland, Indiana

ON THE BUBBLE (IN): Nebraska

ON THE BUBBLE (OUT): Minnesota

Changes from last week: Indiana and Nebraska enter our field of 64, while Minnesota drops out.

The Golden Gophers are still in second place at 8-4, but a home series loss to Nebraska was a setback. Now Minnesota is down to No. 62 in the RPI and is just 3-6 against the top 50. And the head-to-head result could matter if it comes down to Minnesota vs. Nebraska for one spot. The Huskers have the stronger resume overall now, with a No. 41 RPI, a 6-6-1 record against the top 50 and a comparable conference record (7-4-1). It’s still a bubble resume, but right now it’s on the right side of the bubble.

Indiana made an even bigger move than Nebraska this week, winning a huge road series at Michigan to improve to 8-6-1 in the Big Ten. At No. 28 in the RPI, the Hoosiers now find themselves in the “safely in” category for the time being. They also own a head-to-head series win against Minnesota, but they lost their series against Nebraska.

In the section about hosting, they had this to say about Maryland..

Maryland has surged nine spots in the last week to No. 25 in the RPI. A sweep of Michigan State boosted the Terps to 12-3 in the Big Ten, comfortably ahead of the pack. A team that wins the Big Ten will get a bit of RPI leeway, so finishing around 25th might be enough to snag a host spot. The Terps intend to submit a bid to host on campus at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium, which would get a few quick modifications should the Terps host. A 4-8 record against the top 50 isn’t great, but 12-8 against the top 100 is solid enough for a team in a Northern conference.

No reason "Maryland" can't be substituted for "Nebraska" in the above commentary if the Huskers win 11 or 12 more games, eh?

Maryland is sitting on RPI 21, don't think we can get close to that. If we win out straight through the conference tournament maybe we can reach the upper 20s.

If Nebraska wins out (which I am in now way saying they will) I think they would look at Nebraska as a host as they know what kind of money it would bring in. Even host as a 2 seed.

And there it is. Now it's not going to happen. :D

Sorry, had to give you some crap. It's an inevitable discussion that happens every season and is usually followed by some uninspired performances. If we lay an egg at Ohio State...

If we lay an egg at OSU, thinking we'll need some tournament magic to get a NCAA bid. Our margin for error seems razor thin to me.

Still optimistic, tho, b/c all those guys left on schedule stink at baseball. And still hoping we don't stink too.

Damnit, I will take full responsibility.
