I disagree about the whole secondary being a liability. I want to see the defense play a game with all the starting linebackers out there before I make that claim.
This defense is a liability when Gifford has to play in coverage, Bando is moved from a primary blitzer to a cover 2 zone guy in the deep middle, Kalu goes from a nickel to boundary Corner, Cockrell has to play at the LOS as a Nickel, and true freshman Aaron Williams has to play Strong Side safety.
The presence of Mike Rose-Ivey, Banderas, Dedrick Young, and Jonathan Rose changes the way Nebraska plays defense. More importantly, it changes the way Nebraska can pressure the QB.
I do agree that the presence of MRI, Bando, Young and JRose will change the way the defense plays and will have a positive on the secondary (obviously).
