I know most of you followed Roger Craig, but do you remember Curtis Craig. He was Roger's older brother who went to Nebraska. He played RB his first 3 years than switch to WR his senior year, had 44 catches and around 467 yards.

Curtis, Rogers and Jamie Williams were all from Davenport Central that went to Nebraska. All were heavily recruited. Jamie went on to play 12 years as a TE in the NFL. We all know about Roger's NFL career.

Me as well. He had offers from ND, Michigan and many more. I believe he graduated in 74 from high school and Roger and Jamie in 78.

I remember Curtis Craig very well. I don't believe he switched positions, though. As I recall, he spent his entire career as a wingback at NU at a time when that was sort of a RB/WR hybrid position. The senior year numbers cited here are rushing attempts and yardage - not receiving.

This is how I remember as well. If you look at rosters on Huskers.com, he is listed at WB in all years.

Lived in Abel 4 back in the day. Curtis Craig and Dodie Donnel lived on same floor. Both great guys. I remember home games, a family with skinny young kid would always stop and visit Curtis. Skinny kid was his brother Roger.

Thanks, I went back and checked and that was his total yards 457. He had 337 rushing and 120 receiving.

That sounds about right. Unless you were Johnny Rodgers, Husker wingbacks did a lot of blocking and didn't get a ton of touches.

Curtis Craig was a damned good wingback. I kinda wish DH would bring back the "wing back" name to one of the receiver positions. Basically a slot receiver that could also line up in the backfield as a 2nd RB or even line up tight just off the TE.

I was in Sandoz 4 for Craig's later years.

I remember seeing Curtis on campus. Not a big guy but he was ripped. Looked like he was made of steel.

Great player in the mold of Johnny Rodgers. He could catch, run and return kicks. Played around mid-70s. Those were good teams that just ran into an Oklahoma dynasty each year.
