Could you replace the entire OL with the portal?

Is that really true though? Gotulla got no run while Corcoran was healthy. Corcoran gets hurt and they play Gotulla and I honestly don't think I've seen any drop off. We are talking a 5th or 6th year Sr vs a RS Frosh.

So again I ask is that true???

There may not be a huge drop off between the upper and lower classmen. But I think you might run the risk of stunting their growth by putting them out there too early. That’s why they need to supplement the line with veteran talent from the portal in the meantime. Give those players 2-3 years of proper development to shore up the line.

In most cases I would definitely agree with you. All I'm saying is that just because a guy isn't playing doesn't mean that they aren't ready or aren't any better than those ahead of them. I think coaches more than not lean to experience. Which is understandable but SOMETIMES all guys need is a chance.

I actually understand it when you have a guy playing at a high level at a certain position. But LT for us has been pretty bad for years now. Sometimes you just don't know.

I'll be honest I'm starting to wonder if some of the same may be taking place with some of our secondary guys as well. If we haven't learned anything over these last couple years it should be that "experience" doesn't necessarily mean "good".

It's a fine line I think and sometimes coaches get it wrong as well.
