One thing we do know regarding Nebraska's 2017-18 schedule is that the Huskers will play a game as part of the annual Gavitt Games, which matchup schools from the Big Ten and Big East.
We also know that Nebraska will be hosting a Big East school in the event.
A Minnesota basketball forum, GopherHole.com, took a look at what the Gavitt Games match-ups could look like this year, and one of the projections was Nebraska hosting Georgetown.
This would be a great get for NU not only because it would bring a traditional Big East power to Pinnacle Bank Arena, but because of the obvious Husker-Hoya ties involved.
Kenya Hunter would get a chance to coach against his former school, and Isaac Copeland would go head-to-head with his former GU teammates.
Assuming Omaha native and former two-time Husker recruit Akoy Agau stays with the Hoyas, it would mark his first ever collegiate game vs. Nebraska.
It would also mean NBA Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing, now the coach at Georgetown, would be coaching in Lincoln.
With so many storylines, this seems like the best matchup Nebraska could get. Hopefully it works out.
