Perhaps you could identify the players that have packed it in. I'm curious because I see players busting their butts. Perhaps you could send out some tweets, it might fire the team up that some internet guru says they've packed it in.

I agree. There might be a couple who are causing problems, but overall the team mentality has been good so far. I think people believe this because we're losing in the 4th quarter and so we must just be giving up. The truth is we're really losing in the first half by not putting average teams away. And we have incompetent coaching and player mistakes in the 4th quarter to lose games.

I'm basing my opinion, and it's my own opinion - although the media is now constantly asking Mike if his team has quit on him (and he wasn't sure) - the effort and fire the team played with against BYU & the comeback against Miami - is just not there now! Look at Hail Varsity's pics that were taken of the NU bench during the last 4 mins of the game, when it was still anybody's game to win or lose, and you will see multiple players standing around, bored, resigned to the fact that another game was gone. I know that guys like TA, whom I greatly admire, and Jano, Gangwish, Weber, Young, etc will always give great effort, but there is not a winning attitude around them right now - they expect something negative to happen (even BTN experts have seen it and discussed it) - that's what I mean about "packing it in". I've played enough sports to have experienced those "agonies of defeat". Subconsciously I think you brace yourself for another gut-wrenching loss when you see it happening again.

Hey...not everybody smells roses while visiting the dump. Not many negatives to any bowl game, especially in yr 1 of a new regime.

You think I like going to a $@%# bowl?? No, I don't....but something (mainly the 4 extras weeks of practice, national publicity) is better than nothing. That's all I'm saying.

I've said it before, this staff doesn't have the players respect...but they have the fans respect (complete 180 from BP) and the results speak for themselves. This off season will be very interesting...
