Cosgrove had better talent when he was fired than what Banker and Riley have now.
You're right we need to give Riley 10 to 20 seasons of no ballgames in 3 to 4 win seasons and maybe then you can still assist him if the system is to destroy a Nebraska football and make is completely irrelevant I would say he's doing an awesome job similar to what Harbaugh has done at Michigan and urban Meyer but in the opposite way
News flash... both Michigan and Ohio state had more talent then we did when the coaching change was made. Michigan was ranked 7th in the country last year in total defense.

And Cosgrove played against some monster offenses back in those days in the Big 12. Our schedule is nowhere near as tough defensively.
Couldn't agree more. We played like a bunch of 62 yr olds. No offense to them.
Give me a break. Make the 'talent' argument all you want. The facts are that Urban took over a 6-6 team and led them to an undefeated season his first year, and Harbaugh has taken over a 5-7 team and currently has them at 5-2 and in the Top 20. We have a coach who has taken over a team that won no fewer than 9 games the previous 7 seasons and has them at 3-6 with a fresh loss to a team that hadn't won a Big game in its previous 19 tries.
Riley is not a good coach. He's been barely average his entire career. We're in deep crud.
