Corcoran and Piper out for the year

Getting Corcoran out is a net positive with how bad he's been all year.
if what I’ve heard from former players who have watched practice is true, I think you’ll be disappointed. Teddy isn’t fully back yet. Rhule isn’t an idiot. He was putting Corcoran out there because at the time he was the best he had. Maybe Teddy miraculously moves better than he did the last 2 games but I’ll believe when I see it. Corcoran took way too much shit for being willing to play a spot where he’s not a great fit to try to help the team.

I thought we already had Solich proclaim the curse was over.

I was hoping so but doesn't look like it.

Did Austin even recruit between 2020- 2022? Seriously look back at how little we recruited O-lineman during that period. I count 7 Linemen in 3 classes. 2 never made it to campus and 1 transferred out. That’s poor roster management
We were about 4 scholarship linemen short when he was fired

This might actually be a better line.....
Doss and Coleman are also significantly better athletes than guys they replaced. I expect both of those guys to hit for couple long TD rest of season. Also big fan of Fidone and think he will play well rest of year

If injuries stop and Nouili back in couple weeks still more than enough left to win 6-7 with how defense is playing and how bad remaining offenses we face are. Just cannot lose anyone else.

I agree except for Fidone. Dude may have been an all world talent, but he's dropped a lot of balls this year. He needs to hit the Jugs Machine asap. I love his passion, but he's got to help HH out.

Nobody’s getting hurt in practice they’re all getting hurt on that bullshit artificial stuff our money grubbing admin installed

If they care at all about football they’ll rip that shit out and we’ll be playing on a pristine natural surface game 1 of 2024
Give it a rest.. Nebraska has played on artificial turf since 1970..And if their still planning other events that aren’t sports related you might be disappointed..

It’s a shame the athletic dept values money over football player safety

Which has nothing to do with it‘s only your narrative to argue..
It has a lot to do with it

The SEC teams who play on grass and win titles don’t suffer all these injuries during the season

Sure the do. Good teams just have more depth. Also if this is turf related, why are all of the injuries on one side of the ball?
they're not

we have injuries on defense but our opponents are so bereft of offensive talent those don't stand out as much

Hey....I had a brainstorm! As part of the stadium renovation why not put Tom Osborne Field on a carriage, like the stadium in Phoenix. Then it could be natural grass and when Garth Brooks comes to town it could be rolled under the new South Stadium stands. Then we could play on grass and still have other events. The eyeball test shows the carriage would slide right next to Avery Hall with room to spare, but T street would have to be closed and it would butt right up against Manter Hall.

Damn....sometimes I'm too smart for my own good.

We have Singleton out with a knee. Henrich and Reimer have missed games with upper body injuries that aren't at all turf related. The number of injuries on the offensive side of the ball far exceed the number on the defensive side of the ball.

distribution in a small sample is rarely representative.

Sort of like blaming turf for all of the injuries?
there's irrefutable data that natural grass is safer for players than artificial turf

defense is more straight-line, while offense puts more stress on lower body joints

I would bet any amount of money you'd be willing to lose that turf teams are more injured than grass teams on average every season

you are more than welcome to ignore the data in favor of your own thoughts

The fact that turf fields cause more injuries that grass fields does not prove that the injuries the Nebraska players have suffered are due to the turf. Heck, I believe Noonan's knee injury was on the new grass practice field and one of the other DL knee injury was due to a car wreck, I guess that was straight line though too.

I need to see the study that offensive players have more turf injuries than defensive players based on the straight line movements. That seems more like a casual observation and theory.

He has high level P5 length, athleticism and dedication. Give him an offseason to actually practice football (not rehab) and I don't think most of us will even remember the drops this year.

Agree with you last statement though. Haarberg needs him to be good right now. Fidone needs to focus and catch everything that hits his hands ands Haarberg would make things easier if 3/4 of the crossing route throws didn't sale on him putting Fidone in exposed situations. Overall both players need to be better in that underneath game the rest of this year for team to go bowling.

Haarberg needs to do what he did in the second half against Northwestern and not lock in on Fidone. Then he needs more catchable passes that don’t require a 40” vertical to catch.

Yep.. We agree. Just make the catch and fall backwards. I think he is trying to make a play, which I commend, but also just want him to help out HH and move the chains. HH might get better once people start making plays for him.

I hate to say it , but he's been a disappointment. I thought he would be faster, quicker, with rock solid hands. I'm not writing him off yet but so far he's a" what could have been " kind of player. Friggin injuries took it's effect on him.

I agree, but I don't mind where he is at physically. Just needs to catch the damn ball consistently. He's made some really good grabs this year, but also just has a ton of bad drops. He's getting open, just needs to help his QB out.

Bonner's drop on Sat was egregious, also

he's a guy whose name I thought we'd hear a lot more this year, maybe that's why we haven't

He's basically a redshirt freshman in regards to experience. So I'm not terribly concerned at this point. Not sure if it is the injuries or if he is too ripped but he seems kind of stiff.
