Cook accepting mvp disrespecting Griffin?

Total doucebag move. I would have rooted for MSU in the playoffs if not for that. Unless he gets hurt in practice and the backup plays.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">For those of you upset over the exchange with me and Mr Griffin I promise you it came off wrong.. Caught in the moment</p>&mdash; Connor Cook (@Connor_Cook03) <a href="">December 6, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I would rather see him tweet "I was a little pissed that I got the award for the simple fact of me being a senior when I didn't deserve it"

No apology, just excuses is what I got out of those tweets.

And here I was worrying about what to do with my faux outrage...thank you Connor Cook.

looks bad, but could have been caught up in the moment.

If he apologizes for anything it should be for receiving the award. While it's not his fault his right shoulder is a mess, he did little to win the game. Of course it was such a team effort it was probably tough to pick a single star.

He basically admitted as much. He said, (paraphrasing) "On the last drive we passed it once and ran it I think 22 times so this award goes to the Oline. This is for you guys (looking down acknowledging his Oline)." So kudos for Cook on that.

I think he just got caught up in the moment. Was he still disrespectful? Absolutely, but I don't think it was intentional.

I believe him.
Sometimes dumb things get done and said at the wrong times. I can't even imagine where his head was at that moment.

Oh My God. People will rip anything possible. I can't imagine what it would be like being 22 in today's world with social media. Give this guy a break.

Remember he plays QB, is a senior and their all time record holder for wins and his teammates did NOT elect him a team captain this year ... Something is a bit off.

If you watched the post-game interview with the RB who made that great play it is obvious that Cook isn't highly thought of by the team. When asked about Cook playing with an injury the RB ignores the question and says that he(RB) and others played hard and then gives credit to his offensive line. Never mentions Cook and never references the QB position at all. Cook did make a great throw and run but the RB wasn't going to give him any just due.

Hello offended people...Archie Griffin went to The Ohio State...not much love lost between these two schools or their alumnus either.

Did you notice the whole team left the podium while he was being interviewed?

Yeah, I saw that, but I think he was totally oblivious to what was going on and not an intentional slight.
Probably just thought it was some random business executive handing out hardware.

This might be true if Connor was from any other state than Ohio. Archie Griffin treats everyone well regardless of their school. The trophy Cook was accepting just so happened to have Archie's name attached to it.

As for his apology, I don't care. He didn't "notice" until he went to Twitter and found out about it. There is a reason the kid isn't a Captain of his football team.

The bigger question is, "Who voted for him to be the MVP of that game?" That was a game that was all about the defense. Cook was only 50% for the game, threw for under 200 yards, had an interception and zero touchdowns. His qb rating was 33.3. If it has to be an offensive player give it to the freshmen back. Otherwise, start looking on the defense.

P.S. I am sure the team leaving had to do with them thinking, "How the heck did he win the MVP? We won in spite of him."

He did lead the epic drive down Iowas throat. A 3rd down completion between 2 Iowa defenders, and let's not forget the 4th and 2 run for a first down
