Will there eventually be name changes to the big conferences? I mean Stanford in the ATLANTIC Coast Conference (ACC)? 18 members in the BIG 10 Conference, with schools from coast to coast? Texas, once in the SouthWEST Conference is now in the SouthEAST Conference. The BIG 12 will have 16 members...They all need to come up with new names. Anyone concerned with the "Traditional" conference names need to look no further than any traditions that were completely thrown out the window with the new additions and departures of the original schools.
Now, what names would or could fit? Nothing geographical works and you can't do numbers (BIG 10, BIG 12, etc) because it seems to change yearly.
