Did anyone see on College Football Final where of the teams they had to choose from to place in the Top 4...there was none other than the Big Red "N" logo of the University of Nebraska.

Yep right next to Boise St.Winking

Lol
Unfortunately that will probably end soon, but I sure hope I am wrong!
You don't think that will at least last a couple more weeks? Wow-the optimism and confidence from people on this board is something else. I'm still trying to figure out how in the world we ever made it to 5-0? We must be the luckiest team in the history of college football.

People need to be happy. Hell, everyone wanted Riley fired in a rough year one, but look at all these tenured schooled struggling (Texas, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Florida State, Oregon, USC, Oklahoma, etc). People have to realize success is far less guaranteed for everyone but a couple schools, embrace it.

We have been b*tching about not being relevant for how long? As we sit here on October 9th, NU is forcing themselves into the conversation. Said another way - NU is currently relevant.
Yup and if we got left off the same people would be complaining about that too.

Basically the jist I got is we want to be relevant but not too relevant.

I do not mean to complain, but after 50 years of watching Husker Football, I am not convinced that we are anything but a middling top 25 team at best. This is not meant to disparage this team, but I have seen many Husker teams much better. If we find a way to suddenly start to dominate early and take control, my opinion may change.

That said, I love what seems to be happening in Lincoln, and feel that the future is bright.

Go Big Red

They were picking their top 5 out of 8(?) that were listed. I'm happy to see us listed even if we didn't get any of their top 5 love.

We barely beat a crappy Oregon team. This team isn't anywhere near playoff caliber right now, but you never know. Any given Saturday.

I thought it was 10, but not completely sure. I was just listening to College Football Final in the background, and looked up when I heard them discussing the playoff. I saw our logo and grabbed my phone to snap a pic of the tv screen to post, but it was too late; they cut away.

Coulda been 10. Makes me wonder if any recruits, prospective recruits might have been watching and thinking "helllll, ya, that's my Huskers".

Depends on if we win both games in the next couple weeks.

A couple weeks ago I made a comment about the upcoming "gimme" games (Illinois, Indiana, Purdue) and was told that we have no such thing as a gimme because the Huskers haven't done anything to give us fans the impression that any game can be a gimme.

So I hold my optimism back and get told that I lack confidence and optimism.

I am very excited about this team and think this team has a ton of potential this year, but I chose to not make a post showing it due to the previous response.

Of course they did. That's why I'm not sure why some keep wanting to point out we are overrated. Who cares!

We'll finally get much more luv from ESPN as we'll now be a top 10 TEAM. If we can beat Ind by 10 or more we'll really get the luv.

You said it will probably end soon-as if it's more likely than not that we lose soon. That's a pretty big swing from the next two being "gimme" games to thinking it's more likely than not that we lose at least one of them. There is something in the middle that doesn't have quite so pessimistic of an outlook.

So my lighthearted comment about the OP is quite pessimistic? Guess that's how you took it. Sorry. It wasn't pessimistic when I wrote it as I was somewhat laughing about the Boise State comment.

This is what I said before the Illinois game:
"With a somewhat easy game or two coming up, with a bye week too, I say let him sit out and let it heal for a couple weeks so he is ready for Wisconsin!

It kind of feels good as a fan to be able to think that a couple games are gimme's again :) Hopefully they are!"

That was me how I normally am. Optimistic.
Look at my prediction threads. I predict the Huskers to win when I think they will win.
I predict the Huskers to lose when I am not so sure and feeling superstitious as I feel it would help us win. Yes, I am superstitious about these things.

You brought up a couple weeks. I responded about the next two games in the next couple weeks.

In my first comment, I said soon. We play Ohio State soon.

We will probably lose one of the next few games. It could be either Wisconsin or Ohio State. It could be sooner if you ask TruHusker - See the Farmer thread about that and about my earlier comment.

After the first 3 quarters of the Illinois game, I started thinking to myself, maybe TruHusker was right. We haven't shown that anyone in this league is a gimme based on our current or recent history.

Honestly, I am not as optimistic after the Illinois game. I was thinking we have a pretty good chance to go 11-1 in the regular season. Now I am thinking 10-2 because of the first 3 quarters of the Illinois game.

If 10-2 is pessimistic, color me a pessimist.
