You said it will probably end soon-as if it's more likely than not that we lose soon. That's a pretty big swing from the next two being "gimme" games to thinking it's more likely than not that we lose at least one of them. There is something in the middle that doesn't have quite so pessimistic of an outlook.
So my lighthearted comment about the OP is quite pessimistic? Guess that's how you took it. Sorry. It wasn't pessimistic when I wrote it as I was somewhat laughing about the Boise State comment.
This is what I said before the Illinois game:
"With a somewhat easy game or two coming up, with a bye week too, I say let him sit out and let it heal for a couple weeks so he is ready for Wisconsin!
It kind of feels good as a fan to be able to think that a couple games are gimme's again Hopefully they are!"
That was me how I normally am. Optimistic.
Look at my prediction threads. I predict the Huskers to win when I think they will win.
I predict the Huskers to lose when I am not so sure and feeling superstitious as I feel it would help us win. Yes, I am superstitious about these things.
You brought up a couple weeks. I responded about the next two games in the next couple weeks.
In my first comment, I said soon. We play Ohio State soon.
We will probably lose one of the next few games. It could be either Wisconsin or Ohio State. It could be sooner if you ask TruHusker - See the
Farmer thread about that and about my earlier comment.
After the first 3 quarters of the Illinois game, I started thinking to myself, maybe TruHusker was right. We haven't shown that anyone in this league is a gimme based on our current or recent history.
Honestly, I am not as optimistic after the Illinois game. I was thinking we have a pretty good chance to go 11-1 in the regular season. Now I am thinking 10-2 because of the first 3 quarters of the Illinois game.
If 10-2 is pessimistic, color me a pessimist.
