Coldest Game

Water bottles were frozen solid SOLID at halftime at the Prague, NE football field when BruningDavenport went there for a playoff game in about 1998. It was negative teens with a decent breeze. The buses were left running the whole game for fear that they wouldn't start at the end of the game. My fingers hurt just thinking about it!
And then you moved to Montana? Interesting Winking

2008 Kansas game and last year msu game was damn cold and then the snow started falling.

1978 vs OU
OU/NU 1976. Was sitting in the north stadium. The wind was blowing out of the north, came up through the drainage crack in the cement and right up my pant legs. That was one of the hardest losses to take. Went from orange bowl to Bluebonnet bowl

The coldest for me was the 1997 Iowa State game. Below freezing temps and stiff wind meant a wind chill of -2 for the game. I already had a head cold, but was not going to give up my ticket in the student section. Huge mistake. I had the worst cold of my life after that game.

1993 Oklahoma was pretty GD cold
I was watching this one on YouTube last week. OWH says it was 19 degrees at kickoff, but the wind was about 15-25 mph all game which would have pushed the wind chill below zero. I just remember it being real cold and having a lot of thermoses of hot chocolate with us.

It was probably the flu and you may as well have gone to the game, being in the cold doesn't make you sick. That's an old wives' tale.

This is the other one that always sticks out to me. Air temp was nowhere near as bad as 93 OU or the B12 title game, but the rain made it nearly as miserable. At least we won, and between screaming my throat bloody and onset of pneumonia, couldn’t talk for days...
Thought you were talking about 90 but guess you meant 96.

1990 i's the reason the name Eric Bienemy still irritates me. CU won the national title that year. I wasn't there for this one, my dad went down around halftime, I think he must have had a patient in labor or something that kept him from going to all of it. I begged him to bring me but he made me stay home and probably for the best, only thing that would have made it more miserable for him would have been having a cold 8 year old with him. This was the first game I remember watching on tv and being really furious about as a kid.

I played spin the bottle with a couple of girls when I was a kid outside in a tent,it was so cold that the Pointer Sisters were out early and often. It also helped to know how to put a proper spin on that bottle. :D

Winters in Helena are easier/less life altering than in South Central Nebraska.... No drifting, pretty much powder snow, low humidity, and no such thing as a SNOW day from work/school. There is an additional month of "cold" here...... But that means one less month of sweating!

2006 BIG 12 Championship was coldest for me
2015 Iowa
2008 Kansas
1997 Iowa State

final two might not have seemed as cold because we won. That game in KC was miserable

The 2006 Big 12 Title game was pretty cold. I was also at the '91 CU game and it was a nasty day there too.

The 2019 Pinstripe Bowl versus Florida State, Luke McCaffrey's breakthrough game. Now back to the DeLorean.

2013 (I think) at Penn State. Game started a mild 42 degrees. Second half was a blizzard, not dressed for that at all. And of course it went into OT. We won, but I think I might have preferred that we lost in regulation so I could leave!!!

The concessions stands ran out of hot chocolate.

what’s the coldest game you remember attending? Mine was in November 2008 Huskers vs Kansas. Freezing cold with windy conditions! Suh caught a TD and I believe Nebraska’s win made them bowl eligible. Fun times!
