the reality is, Deion has made them an above average team. i'd compare them to a lesser version of Mike Leach's Texas Tech teams. you can dislike Deion and still admit they are better with him than without him.

Not that there have been that many to chose from, but our (I’m referring to Nebraska here) last bowl win was in 2015, so the Bowl win would probably be our best win. We did look good pummeling Colorado, but it turned out to be a mirage, as they weren’t very good.
True, but they weren’t actually any good. They got hammered by us, lost to a 5-win KU team on a neural field, got beat at home by a KSU team that gave up 40+ to Rutgers. They just benefited from a pathetic schedule.
Winning that game was fun because they talked so much shit after beating us in Boulder the year before and because the Coach Prime fan boys on this site are so unbearable. But in the grand scheme of things beating Wisconsin to get that monkey and the bowl game monkey off our back was big and winning a Bowl Game for the first time in a decade was huge too.

Not sure what is so funny here. Or what is even trying to be proven with this whole beating Deion is a great accomplishment, which makes him greater than the coach(es) that beat him thing. That is some weird spin on a beat down from the fan club, but that’s what they do.
It was Rhule’s second game of his second year and we hadn’t exactly been very good. I hoped it was a springboard to bigger things, it wasn’t. We then went on to beat Wisconsin for the first time in forever, getting bowl eligible for the first time in forever and then won a bowl game. Those were also fun, and more important.

You claimed he had never failed at anything (fraudulent charter school, divorce, domestic assault, refusing to pay bills, on and on).. Claimed he would make players do the right thing (one of his sons pushed an official, the other assaulted a security officer and refuses to pay his debts, he doesn’t even try to make his own kids act like decent human beings). You claimed he was a grinder and no one would out work him (won’t even leave his house to recruit). Does Colorado giving that guy a boatload of money suddenly make any of those claims true?
