Really enjoyed listening to the coach interviews linked to this board.
In particular, liked the comments of Donte Williams and Bob Elliott.
Coach Williams highlights: Asked how he was working with coach Elliott and without hesitation said "Awesome!" Described coach Elliott as a great positive thinker and encourager who is extremely knowledgable. Talked about the corners Jones and Kalu learning some great new techniques. Said that we will see a lot of Eric Lee this fall. Lamar Jackson played safety and quarterback in HS and when his knowlege catches up to his talent he will be unbelievable, called him a first rounder.
Said coach Diaco is a "defensive genious"
Coach Elliott was a very skilled speaker. 1st coach I ever remember who repeated those impossible to hear press questions!
Nothing but praise and gratitude for his chance to come here. Spoke alot about the communication skills of coach Diaco, how principled and strong he is in his beliefs both on and off the field. How coach D's 3-4 is a true 3-4. A lot of teams run the 3-4 but then adjust into a 4-3 before the snap.
He talked about how smart this staff is. Called them energetic and mentioned that he had been in 18 defenses and couldn't say enough nice things about coaches Bray, Williams, Diaco, Parrella and Riley. Loves the facilities and the leadership in the athletic dept.
You cannot help but be optimistic listening to these coaches. Their dedication is obvious. It feels like the pieces are in place.
