I know Damon Benning is still butt hurt from his Omaha North team (that he helps coach) being schooled by Bellevue West but come on Damon be unbiased in your calling of the game. I know down playing Moses Bryant play helps to build up Jaleyns play against your omaha north team but 354 total yards and four touchdowns is another solid nightly performance like Jaleyn the night before. Did Benning play w Turman at Nebraska? is that another reason for the pro Skutt commentary throughout the game ?
And what about the officials ? Man the spots they made multiple times really put eshs in some tough positions but each time eshs came through w first downs or touchdowns after questionable spots. Would have been a good game for instant replay to be utilized. Will we ever see instant replay in nebraska high school football ? The pass interference call on Bryant when the Skutt receiver really fell on his own was huge for Skutt on the last drive. Terrible call by the officials. Then Bryant seals the deal w a low tackle as Skutt goes for two to try and tie the game.
We saw the best championship game of the season tonight between the two teams that have won the last four state championships....eshs the past two and Skutt the prior two. I could very well see these two teams playing again in the championship next year.
