A contrast in the two D's at least in the first half. KC played back, three man rush, not much pressure. Pats played up tight, looks like nine guys on the line of scrimmage, DB's in your face, forcing the action.

Not sure what I was thinking but I thought we might have a 3-4 closer to the Pats pressure D. Obviously, either can work.

Cheifs played it smart. Brady is great at picking up the blitz and making quick reads, you can't give him those opportunities. KC likes to bring pressure alot, just not against the Pats.

I didnt watch the second half but caught some highlights at the gym this morning. On those I saw, KC was sending an extra person on the rush and Brady didnt have all day to stand back there and find someone running free.

The teams that have beat the Pats over the years are able to get to Brady with their DL (Giants, etc), without blitzing. I thought the Chiefs did a pretty good job of getting after him only sending 4.

They really didn't get any pressure at all until the end of the game when the pats had to go downfield. Then Houston started gloriously planting Brady.

Most of the game they were dropping 8 and tackling, then stiffening up in the red zone (which has been their MO under Sutton). Frustrating to watch as a chiefs fan, but it's tough to criticize much after that beat down in the 4th.

Chiefs stopped the run pretty well - Gillispe ran for 3 TDs but from point blank range. It looked like Brady lost some sharpness as the game went on. I think Chiefs adjusted match-ups and Pat receivers struggled to get open. And Gronk ain't the same guy. Still big - with great hands - but clearly his is not back to what is was physically. Maybe he never will be - lumbering is the best way to describe it. So as the windows got tougher - Brady was not able to deliver last night. Pats don't always play great the first few games. I think the offense will be OK. The question is if KC can roll up that many yards what can other offenses do to NE D? The Sweaty is pretty good at adjusting scheme and personnel on D so I am sure they will shore things up over the next few weeks.
