Congrats on the win, now go buy you some rooftop seats for the next round. I hear the view is great because there are no championship flags to get in your way.You mad.
Best team in baseball, yeah third in their division and the last team in the NL to make the playoffs only because of the wildcard. The wildcard has made baseballs 162 game schedule irrelevant.Probably going to be the best team in baseball for the foreseeable future. Brent Musburgers says..... "DEAL WITH IT!" Go Cubs Go

Re-read the post. Foreseeable future. It's ok... After their World Series you can jump on the bandwagon.
I remember many fans and media saying that when they had Prior, Young and other young talent. They've had a special year and many things have gone their way so we'll see if that continues. Sometimes all of the young talent comes together and blossoms and sometimes it never builds on the early promise. I do know this though, if they do continue to be successful they will have to keep dealing with the Cardinals because they are the best run franchise in baseball right now. Just look what they've done over the past 10 years and continue to do in years with injuries and other obstacles faced. Long live the curse of the billy goat!!!!!
I can't stand the Cubs, or the Giants for that matter (San Francisco was last year's "last team in" as the second wild card). And, I don't really like the second wild card. But the playoff format is what it is, and if a second wild card team takes home a World Series title, good for them. A lot of people thought allowing any wild card teams into the playoffs cheapened the regular season, and were opposed to that change. And yet, I don't see any asterisks on the Cards' 2011 flag. Cardinals also won the series in 2006 after winning a really bad division with an 83-79 record, but I'm guessing nobody in St. Louis talks about how meaningless that regular season was.Best team in baseball, yeah third in their division and the last team in the NL to make the playoffs only because of the wildcard. Hold off on the World Series talk, they have not even made it there yet and realize just because you may be the best team in baseball does not guarantee that you will when anything in the playoffs. Winning and Cubs are two words rarely seen together as well. Stay Classy!!MOhusker writes, "Congrats on the win, now go buy you some rooftop seats for the next round. I hear the view is great because there are no championship flags to get in your way."

I love it, a perfect example of a poor sport Cardinal fan. Classy and Cardinal fan are two words rarely seen together.
I agree 100% I said it back in 2011, that the cards backed into the playoffs and did not deserve to be there. Was I happy they won, yeah, but that is playoff baseball. With todays format and all the off days, the best baseball team rarely wins, it is just the way it is. That is why I think it is crazy when people talk in college football about two teams from the same conference getting into the four team playoff. If you can't win your conference or division you should not get another shot, just my opinion.I can't stand the Cubs, or the Giants for that matter (San Francisco was last year's "last team in" as the second wild card). Boy you can't take a little trash talk at all, you must be pretty thinned skin if that irritates you this much to try and describe someone on a message board. Talk about being classy, you words seem to be classless.Unoriginal. I can now add a word to describe you as a Cardinal fan. So definitely not classy but definitely not original sums you up succintly.
Why would any of us Cardinal fans be mad? Are the Cubbies going to suddenly catch up with what the Cardinals did this past decade? One postseason series win in how many years now?You mad.
Maybe they'll quit whining? The Red Sox whining got to the point that they actually made a show about it on HBO. Thank god they finally won.(Well,...maybe not so thankful for that....but) Sometimes you just can't stand listening to the losers whine anymore.Cubs vs Royals (hopefully) in World Series. If so, either way a fan base would get to experience something they never thought could happen....

The Mets or Dodgers may have something to say about this!Yes they are. The Cubs will probably win the next 3 World Series. Once they do this all of the talent will continue to line up for Chicago. It's not out of the question to win the next 5 WS. In the process they will continue to dominate the Cards and give them a sympathy game in the series like they did this year. Next year it won't surprise me to see the Cubs 1-9 hitters hit a homerun in a game they are going to be that good. The future is the Cubs.

After what the city of Chicago did to Steve Bartman's life, I hope the Cubs never win another playoff game and finish last in their division every year.
They still had the rest of the game and the next game to win......so there is that.Maybe Bartman should have kept his but in the seat and not reached for the ball. He made his own bed.

Last place Reds fan latching on to a Cubs victory to spew out sour grapes at the 11 time World Series Champion STL Cards. Well, that's not a little pathetic at all...
Back to where the real conversation should be directed...Congrats Cub fans. Pretty damn exciting team. Should be a fun rivalry for years to come.

Not a Cubs fan, but I don't mind them. Hate the Reds. I'm just not sad whenever a cheating organization goes down in flames.
As far as Bartman, that was pathetic. Cubs panicked and pissed down their legs at first adversity and rather than own it, throw some fan under the bus. Pretty much destroyed the guy's life.
