Chances Tommy is our starter next year?

Tommy has had four years in the program. Four ints pretty much was the difference in the game. I hope TA knows that no one else is really ready to take the reins and gets his act together. He needs to get it into his head that you can win games by not trying too hard to win games. Iowas QB is a poster boy for this approach. D was playing decent today. Just chuck the ball OOBs and go on to the next play. There is something about having too much confidence in your abilities.

Fifth Year Senior will not be beat out by a true Freshman, even if he is better. Out of respect, that will NEVER happen. Now if Tommy says he is better I will step aside then maybe. I do not see that happening right now. I do not know I would want that anyway. I personally like to Reshirt QB's. Frazier's only happen once in a long while. What it has been a long while.

I think the problem all along has been Tommy knows no one is ready to take the reins. He knows no matter how poorly he plays he's going back in. I mean, his last two games were EASILY his two worst games. I don't want to claim he stoped caring about getting better, but he sure stopped getting better.

Until today, I thought there was a 0% chance he would get beat out. Now, 50/50.

Very poor decisions, bad reads, even his body language on the sideline was odd. Guy probably went threw a rough week, but man... Needed him to deliver today and he couldn't get it done.

That's just not true. You can be a game manager by making correct decisions and not going for the home run ball on every throw. You look at the bombs Tommy put up tonight. There were ALWAYS receivers running wide open underneath. Instead of throwing it as hard as he could every time somone ran a streak, he could have "managed" the game by dinking and dunking and going to his checkdown, since the deep receiver was always well covered.

I don't mean game manager in that he throws 12 times a game and hands it off the rest. I mean a game manager in that he's looking to get first downs instead of touchdowns and letting the game unfold in front of him. Somewhere along the way, Tommy fell in love with his arm, and it absolutely destroyed any chance for real growth as a quarterback.
part of that is the riley system nfl qb sean mannion threw 54 int at oregon state. nfl qb derek anderson threw 57 int in 3 years at oregon state in 3 years. nfl qb matt more threw 31 int in 29 games at oregon state
