Not sure how these new guys are going to pan out but the staff is tearing up the portal summin fierce, Gotta believe that the new staff additions are driving some of these player chases.

Up to 105. We have plenty of spots for these portal guys. The walk-ons will be the mass exodus.
I think we were carrying in the 140 to 150 range for players. So probably 50 to 75 walk-ons.
At present we have 135 players, we have to have at least around 30 walkons. Don’t quote me on this just a guess.
Thanks. I assumed we had around that many walk ons, but I was not certain. It is sad, isn't it, to see the walk on tradition die? I think the NCAA is making a mistake with these 105 roster limits.
Agreed. Especially when these kids pay their own way to school.
IF we have 135 players, doesn't that mean we have 50 walkons? The old limit was 85 scholarships, right??
It's a sad day to me when all of the walk-ons get eliminated by the NCAA roster mandate. Nebraska football always meant to me that it was an opportunity for kids to have a shot at realizing their dream to play for the Huskers or at least suit up. But life is change after change these days so I guess we have to move on even if those changes aren't always for the best.
Yeah, it’s stupid that the NCAA can dictate how many players a team can have. If you are organized enough to manage more players practicing, which is more doable with the larger coaching staffs now, it should be up to each school.
With the 105, we can basically go 4 deep at every position, plus an extra handful on each side of the ball. This is the 4-deep at WR, as I see it now. Am I missing anyone?

Yeah, I think there should be an "active roster" requirement (like 85), and then allow programs to have walk-ons on the practice roster.

kind of a tweener, but versatile and doesn't seem to mind the dirty work
will never be a gamebreaker on the outside. I can see him playing a similar role to Haarberg if he beefs up a little.
Could be off by 1 or 2, but I counted 151 players on the 2024 roster. That means 66 walk-ons.
