Will Cooper.... N

You have to have a few guys who are content on being practice/scout team players. You're not going to have a 15-man rotation.

Otherwise this signing doesn't make a lot of sense, as I think we already have enough 6-6 white guy shooters with middling athleticism.
Did scholarship numbers increase for basketball too? You need 8 guys who can really play and then 7 developmental or scout team players. The NIL money some of the schools have that were competing with for players is insane. We can’t fill out our roster with highly sought after transfers. 😕

Yes, the new rule is that college basketball teams now can only have maximum of 15 players on the roster, but they can give scholarships to all 15.

So your bottom players (12-15) are essentially going to be walk-on level players, because most teams are only going to have an 8 man rotation. But they can be awarded scholarships now. So this Cooper kid is pretty much a "walk-on", in that he will be mostly a scout team player, at least initially. Maybe he can develop into something a couple of years down the road.

I do wonder if Henry Burt will move on, as Hoiberg still seems to be recruiting transfers, but only has one more scholarship available as it sits now.

It's idiotic to think every guy we bring in is going to be a starter and an upgrade. If this guy's an upgrade on Grace it's a win for the bench and what he does for the team in practice.
