ESPN shows 6. But I guess he could have redshirted his freshman year and they just didn’t list it.

- Michigan - 2L (Only guaranteed Loss)
- Illinois - 4W
- Northwestern - 5W
- Purdue - 6W
- Michigan State - 7W (Stalled offense all game)
- Maryland - 8W (Last minute TO see Minnesota)
- Wisconsin - 9W (We don't settle for the FG)
- Iowa - 10W (Did you see the end?)
So again where does this 8 wins come from? I see 10 wins with a competent QB

So he started playing college football when Mike Riley was coaching here.
Am I underselling him? I figured he'd win a few more but probably blow a couple close games.
How would he be similar to McCord? Thompson threw for 500 yards 5 TD/5INT at FAU and will be coming off of major knee surgery. McCord was 3rd team All-B1G. He is an NFL guy coming in to start, while Thompson is a depth guy coming in to get a start on his coaching career.

Thompson isn't as good as Mccord but he could have probably gone 11-1 or 10-2 throwing to the receivers they had at osu.

Charles Thompson is not the most honest guy in any room. IIRC when he sold cocaine to a FBI agent he said it was entrapment or that he was buying it for a friend or some such bogus story…I assume he said the transfer stuff to help his son out, so maybe it’s not all bad but still.
I mean, lying in that situation is something we would all do.
With that said, ever read his book? It is ****ing awesome!
He did the right thing. He was injured and Rhule brought in a guy. Said guy failed spectacularly, so Casey would have started and probably gotten some wins. I dont blame him. Nice thing is that he’ll get a free phd when it’s all said and done.
That’s not the version of things I’ve heard expressed by former Husker players on the radio. Why in the world would Rhule tell him to transfer? The version that was widely discussed was that Charles wanted a guarantee that Casey would start. To that Rhule said then you might want to look around. Only Rhule, Charles and Casey know for sure but I don’t trust Charles to give us anything but half truths.
