I'm glad Mickey got a fair chance to take his shot. If he hadn't been given that shot there would be disgruntled fans. I wish he would have succeeded. But these last two games in particular didn't pan out for him getting the job. So now it's on to whoever Trev picks. I just hope and pray Trev makes a good choice. We're so long overdue for some good news in football.

We're done for yet another dismal season. We got our 2 B1G wins. We have an outside chance against Iowa but we can never rise to the occasion. Nebraska football with three consecutive 3-win seasons. We are the definition of a dead football program.

Mickey inherits a complete mess of a team that hasn't won since any of these kids came to Lincoln. The HC is a personal mess and gets fired three games in after getting beat by very low caliber teams. He comes in and has to fire his D coordinator after one game. He wins two games against weak teams but they did win when they may have folded in the past. So Mickey inherits all of that, no win position, shows some progress, kids play hard for him, and yes they last last week and again this week.

So bring in Ruhle who just go let go by the Panthers because his teams couldn't win in two years. Then they win after he is out. Tell me what he brings if you are comparing recent results?

As a qualifier, I don't have a dog in the fight, Trev makes the decision, not me.

The kids played hard for Frost last year. We took Ohio State, Michigan, and Oklahoma down to the wire. That was used as the excuse to bring him back this year. It should not be used as the excuse to hire a guy whose only D-I coaching experience is a few years as a position coach and a 2-7 record as an interim coach.

After the first quarter I was thinking "wow, maybe Mickey does have a chance at the job" but then as our offense tanked and Purdy stayed in the game I changed my mind. No way in hell we should hire Mickey after that brain fart of an offensive game. Our defense came to play but wore down as our string of "3 and outs" went on and on. And yet there trotted Purdy onto the field again and again and again. Absolutely ridiculous.
